Cyberster - what we know so far

Lol do love the critics and one lady claiming shes ordering the Boxster EV. She criticizes SAIC but forgets that Porsche were subsidized and supported by the Nazis once upon a time. Its easy to play that game. Im sure the Boxster EV by default will have different spectacles and standards applied. It is a big badge after all. Hopefully they compare it weight and size to the MX5 too and apply similar criticism. I doubt it though.

My initial thoughts are that it looks very special. The quality seems to be high and the driving position isn’t as high as I was expecting after some reviews complained about the height.

Been to MG Chorley today to look at the Cyberster. Finished up buying a new,
X Power, anyway that's another story. ?
The Cyberster is absolutely fantastic. Had a good look around it, sat in it.
(Thought I might have needed a hoist to get me out. But it was actually OK) The Colour is apparently White, but it looks like a very light Grey to me, it looks gorgeous. The fit and finish is excellent.
A few pics. ??

@salty How tall are you? I ask because I am 6ft 1 and a little worried about the seat height. I had an MX5 a few years back but that has a low seat and I could fit. What did you make of the cabin?
I'm a short Arse, 5ft 8" ?
Cabin was excellent, the fit and finish is bloody lovely. ??

The seat is more restricted than the prototype. They said they allowed it to go lower. Unless ive grown taller not sure its that much lower than the prototype which i could move the seat further back. The lean has been restricted and there is no tilt function on the base - Just up down. The back rest is just about 75 Degrees at best so youre sitting up or relying on more lumbar for some lean. Thats countered by flatness of the base. Im 6'2 and I have to hunch to keep my head below the windshield roofline.

Maybe someone will find a way to adjust the seat beyond the current restrictions.

Yes, that was what I was afraid of. They said they'd lowered it 1 inch but usually when this kind of thing is done it means that it is tight. Mmmm... probably kills my interest then.

Just a heads up for anyone whose dealer can't provide exact delivery dates. These don't show on the dealer ordering system if the dealer hasn't had the Cyberster showroom refit yet.

EDIT: Apparently the dealer I've bought my Cyberster from isn't even an official Cyberster dealer:( How does that affect me? Will they be allowed to do the handover to me? Any other repercussions?

It sort of completely negates the idea of having exclusive Cyberster dealers if non-Cyberster dealers can also sell the model doesn’t it?

Exactly. It's left me wondering what the handover will be like, etc. Although I have been reassured by MG UK that they will sort out delivery of my car on an exception basis if needs be.

MG UK Head Office have been excellent, and have now managed to change my order so that it can be fulfilled from the stock of cars sitting at Portbury available for despatch next week, rather than waiting for the next ship. All I had to do was change my colour choice.

It probably also explains why my dealer didn't seem to know anything about the Cyberster, as they haven't done the training etc. And also why they suddenly cancelled getting the showroom tour car. I just hope they do get their demonstrator Cyberster this week.
