HS plug in or ZS ?

Just had a very tempting email from my local MG dealer about upgrading and as I find my MG5 low for my needs now
Which would be better ZS full electric or HS Phev .
My work place is 20 miles at most away and only do 10/15miles at weekends so 75 mile range on HS not problem
RFL is going on EV’s so that’s no worry either
I did sit in the HS on Tuesday while waiting for my brother to pick me up as my car was in for service and found that ok

I also own an 14plt Cmax which is the sort of seating position I like so is the HS similar

If you can charge at home it's a no-brainer to go full EV in my opinion. You get rid of all the problems of the ICE, all the work-rounds and compromises and the millions of moving parts just waiting to fail. Servicing, oil changes, exhausts, all that stuff - gone. Why carry around two power trains, all that weight and complexity, when one - the simple and efficient one - will do the job? They market them as the best of both worlds but frankly they're the worst of both worlds.

You have a full EV range on a charge, 200+ miles, so you won't need to charge every night. You have a decent-sized battery that isn't going to do so many charge-discharge cycles. And while it's probably not a huge risk, hybrid cars are the ones by far the most likely to catch fire.

By all means find a car you like, but there's such a range of EVs to choose from these days you'll surely find one that suits you.

That was my thinking when moving from hybrid to EV. I can't charge at home, but the MG5 is still a good fit for me as would be ZS EV I would think.
At the end of the day it's up to the individual as to which would be a better fit for their driving patterns.

Did you get a chance to sit in a ZS?

It sounds like seating position is the main issue between the cars.

I got a petrol ZS when our car was in the dealers for the day - seemed high to me but I'm not used to that kind of car.

I keep getting adverts for heavily discounted ones. Presumably because they probably aren't going to be around for that long.

I also struggle to see the advantage of a PHEV unless you have a lot of long-distance time-sensitive driving to do.
