Cyberster - what we know so far

MG Thailand has officially announced a steering Yoke option for the Cyberster. The cost is 8,055 Thai baht which equates to about 184 pounds. I might give it a try but my wife is not so keen. Gotta keep selling her on it!

Looks like the car was always designed to have that steering wheel to make the displays visible

I don't like this sawn-off steering wheel, even if the view of the dashboard is much better. In addition, I would regularly reach into the void when parking if I wanted to reach over with my hand.

That's great, one of the two issues with the car sorted! (although, may be a little form over function on a car with an ordinary, non progressive steering ratio) Just need a good quality aftermarket rear light option now to lose the arrows!

Its unlikely they will sell those here. Any word on summon feature? Seems like Thailand getting the full goodies.

I checked with the dealer today. They say the yoke will be available in both colors. However they insisted the installation be done by them and they weren't amenable to just selling the yoke outright. Not sure if thats an "MG" directive or them just wanting to maintain control of service potential for their customers. Also reconfirmed no summon feature for Thailand. I suspect the yoke will become available on Aliexpress at some point.

Then there is the question of whether it can be used in Europe at all! Not all accessories available for a car can be used in a distant country.

I agree that unless the steering is a steer-by-wire system with a turn "throw" of no more than say 60 degrees allowing (9 o'clock to 1 o'clock clockwise or 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock counter clockwise) such that both hands remain on the yoke than it makes sense. Plus rear wheel steering might also be required to achieve the turning radius with such a limited throw. (aka Cybertruck) The Cyberster steering system requires about 420 degrees of rotation lock to lock. Thats one full 360 turn plus another 60 degrees of so. Hence, I think a yoke with the incomplete circle you might often be grabbing "air" with the top of the circle gone, so a big learning curve. But,,,,indeed it looks great, improves visibility of the screens, and other than parking type maneuvers it would likely be enjoyable. The cost is not so high at 184 pounds that it 'might' be worth the experiment. Still got my wife to convince though,,, ?

They got rid of the some funky animations and sounds for UK version...no mention of summon and no mention of yoke steering....all so serious... Hopefully they will appear but they may not be official.

Ofcourse the steering can in the UK, they cant police that. They barely turn up to crime as it is. They wont be able to see into the car anyway if you have any tints plus its very low down. Maybe in Germany where tampering and modifications are somewhat a grey area rendering many aftermarket companies near useless. People still modify anyway.

90 degrees on a car doesn't work. Does the Cyberster have self park from parallel?

So I’ve been waiting for my company lease plan to list the Cyberster. Just received an email from them saying it should be available to order in the next ‘few weeks’ and that they are still waiting for final prices.
