I've had my MG 4 for quite some time. And one annoyance is the shortcut for phone usage.

I hate having to use the touch screen while driving for safety reasons.

The phone key opens the last calls page which is perfect. But it would be so much better if you could use the arrow keys on the steering wheel to navigate and middle button to call after pushing the phone button.

I have to call a number to open the gate at work, and to be efficient I usually call two minutes before arriving, because the gate is slow at opening. And every time I have to poke around on the touchscreen, the number is always high up on my recent calls list, so if I could use the arrow keys it would be like phone key, one or two clicks down and middle key to call.

Given MGs track record for software, this is never going to happen of course, but it seems like such a missed opportunity.

Same with incoming calls, should be possible to answer without touching the touchscreen, I thought the phone button would work for that, but seems not.

Me too. I'm astonished how well it works. I've had the odd glitch, for example I say to call my friend, and the AA voice says "home or mobile" and I say "home" and the screen reads "Holm" and tries to send me to somewhere the other side of the country called "Holm". That is legitimately nuts. But mostly I just press the voice button, say "call whoever" and it starts to ring.

A lot of the things Trophy owners complain about don't seem to happen when you're in an SE and just using AA. Just saying.

Same here. And at least in my MG the phone button cannot even used to end a call - a quite useless button.

You can use the MG voice commands for calls, the function is included with the Trophy LR

I'd love to be able to complain about android auto and voice call issues but since my latest update I cannot connect my phone at all.
The left hand side of my home screen is ghosted out.
Anyone with the same issue?

Hi Martin online, no my Mrs can't connect her girlie iPhone either ( maybe not such a bad thing)

Does R33 sound right after it's first service and update?
Before the update everything worked well, give with one hand but take away with the other ?Hmmm

1100R33 is the latest for the SE ... I've had it for almost a year now and like it; no real issues here (apart from the left Star button occasionally losing its config).

I don't have any such issues ... unable to use in what way?

Bluetooth works fine for me, as does Android Auto.

My Trophy AA icon is greyed out until I plug in my Moto phone and then it auto starts and the AA icon on the home page darkens.

This does not happen with yours?

You might have to go back to the dealer. There might be a possibility that the update was corrupted or didn't install correctly.

You have to press and hold the button to end a call. Not exactly intuitive

Like OP, I have to call a gate to get in/out and it is frustrating how slow the synchronisation is to get the list of last calls. Most of the time I have to get the phone out of my pocket and dial manually as it is much faster than waiting

I only use AA if I specifically need it. I did use a wireless dongle for it but it causes the bluetooth pairing issue to happen much more frequently so I have gone back to wired

I think this issue highlights the main bug bearer for me and many others. Bells and whistles don't matter if basics like bluetooth calls aren't working

It feels like MG added lots of features to be able to look good on paper compared to the competition, but fails at implementing them correctly.

Like OTA, not working and doubtful if it will ever work.
Automatic high beam - which is only good for annoying oncoming traffic since it decides when to work and when to not work. Thank god this auto feature can be turned off permanently.

Would be better to sell the car without features that clearly doesnt work.
