Annoying satnav bug

I am curious if any of you have the same issue with the on-board satnav:

Almost everytime when I use the satnav and I do a little detour, it does not recalculate the actual route but set the target to the office location if have set. This led to some uncomfortable situations when I was in an unknown area and I accidentially took a wrong turn. The satnav would not "correct" the route but send me to my office.
This is one of the reasons I switch to Android Auto on longer journeys.

I am driving a 2023 MkII.

There is not much point bothering with MG navigation because it's not live and not up to date - Google maps is much better with live updates and plenty of other options. But - would I pay extra £1,000 to have all that as standard on MG? No.
Not sure why it sends you to the office ... next time I'm driving, I'll set it up to see what happens when i take a wrong turn ...

I tried mine, 2022 Trophy, and as soon as I would miss the turn, it would update for the new route.

Try updating your Satnav to the latest maps, might help ?

Thanks for checking. Well, it doesn't happen all the time, just when it is super uncomfortable for me. Must be a feature

I have the latest map update, but I have no idea how to update the Satnav. I guess that's connected to the infotainment software?

sorry, I say Satnav - I meant to update maps, maybe that helps...
There are some posts here how to update maps - it gives you the latest available maps, usually 6 months old. You download zip file, unzip onto USB memory stick and plug it into the car to update, there are instructions on the website where you download from

I did that already, so that didn't help.
