Speeding notification

Second tab on the infotainment (is that MG Pilot?), speed limiter is at the top, activate with the middle left steering wheel button, toggle the speed up and down with the left steering wheel joystick. Go one further and set the speed limiter to intelligent and it'll change the limited speed by reading the road signs - works reasonably well.

Thanks. So cruise control basically? I have been using this. When you say one further to set to intelligent what do you mean? On the toggle button? Won't this just increase the spread by 5mph?

No, not cruise, with speed limiter you are required to press the accelerator as normal to control the cars speed, but you cannot accelerate beyond the pre set speed, if you do by reducing the pre set for example the car will start to bong until the speed reduces.

No, I was referring to one further enhancement beyond the standard speed limiter. Setting the speed limiter to intelligent will set the 'limit' by reading the road speed signs as you pass them.

Hmm at the moment I use that for cruise control so I'm a bit confused!

I'm taking the car in tomorrow to sort out a few things so I will ask them then.

There is also something called overspeed threshold that you might come across, which is different. As it's rarely mentioned I suspect few people use it whatever it does (the manual isn't so helpful on this topic).

I wouldn't use intelligent speed limit. It could be embarrassing when on a dual carriage way and it picks up a 30 mph sign on a slip road. Also it reads the national speed limit signs as 60 mph on dual carriageways and motorways.

Ian, absolutely correct, it has it's limitations, that's why I described it as working reasonably well ;).
But it works well enough most of the time. Once a week I undertake a 300 mile round trip and there are different parts of the journey that suit the different driver assistance modes.
When the intelligent speed limiter is outsmarted by a prominent 30 next to a 70 mph road, it doesn't slam on the anchors, the car starts bonging and decelerating gently. The problem is quickly resolved by pressing the centre of the left hand three buttons on the steering wheel to turn ISL off.
I started using the intelligent speed limiter after an SP30 on a silly section of the A303 near Yeovil that moved a 30 mph limit to different locations each week .

So there you have two surprises for EV sceptics, you can go fast enough in an EV to break the speed limit and 300 mile journeys are possible :ROFLMAO:.

Do you have a physical manual as I only have the app and the one on the car. Neither have page numbers and I find them most unhelpful! I'm finding YouTube and this forum are much more helpful!

View the pdf either on a PC or tablet/phone. The Google pdf viewer app from the play store shows page numbers and has a usable search function. The viewer on Google files is not as good. I assume Apple products will work well too.
