We got the car in the summer. Now it's started to get colder I've just discovered this alternative radio mute button...

Anyone else kitted out with one of these??

Sounds (of silence) that the rear screen heater is interfering with the dab signal, maybe there's a missing filter? somewhere back there.

I've noticed something occasionally interferes with the signal from the reversing camera

Occasionally I'll inadvertently put the radio on AM, that also picks up a lot of noise/interference from something (the motor I think)

Looks very plausible. A quick search online for "rear window heater radio interference" gets lots of results across lots of car manufacturers. Apparently a slightly damaged wire could be making tiny arcs and lots of EMF noise

@dragon2611

Is your car a pre-facelift?

I've never experienced any of the problems discussed in this thread (though I suspect your AM "disturbance" is down to the fact that its aerial may be almost non-existent?) but it is annoying to say the least when, because of poor signal coverage in certain locations, the radio switches from DAB to FM, with a consequent discontinuity in the listening experience, caused, presumably, by the additional signal processing delay which DAB inevitably creates.

It’s probably more noticeable because it’s not actually tuned into a radio station.

Same with dab, it’s tuned to a station I usually don’t get so it sometimes catches me by surprise if it does pick something up.

I tend to stream music off the internet when I’m driving (usually one of the autogenerated playlists on whatever music service I’m currently using)

Now here is a odd thing. I had heard of AM radio problems with the T (for trump?) electric.
I'm like 50 km from my nearest AM station and yet I get perfect reception with no noise. I am so far out that the 19kHz pilot tone drops out on FM causing that annoying Stereo/Mono switching. My only problem after 20,000 km has been the electric handbrake does nor always disengage automatically.
This is no big deal as a quick flick of a finger does the job.
