Sorry, I was referring to the apparent lack of a “Service Soon” warning light

that is displayed in the instrument dash cluster on both VAG and BMW cars for a long time now.
These flag up a service due warning about a month before the actual service date.
With this in place, the owner can not deny any knowledge that his / her service is due.
Therefore your warranty should not be compromised.
Not having any visual warning displayed in the dash panel leave a lot to be desired really.
These service lights are usually set / reset by the tech at the time of the currant service via a diagnostic computer / tablet.
I have NOT witnessed any such service warnings being displayed in the dash panel of our previous Gen1 or our current Gen2 that’s for sure.
When we had our previous Gen1 it had to wait for a service slot at the local dealers, due to C19 restrictions.
When the car actually hit the workshop, it was three weeks past its annual service date.
I received no warning lights to advise me that the service was due / over due now.
Allowing the owner to reset the service schedule in the head unit defeats the object somehow

.
Handy if you go third party though I guess.
