Xpower carted off the field

Wonder why they did not put latest on there?

Is there a list of software version history anywhere, very confusing.
I think you’ll find most MG dealers will not do any software updates, even at service time. Some will do it but charge you for their time. Only if they are required for warranty issues / repairs seems to be the norm for getting them for free.

Seems with mine the dealer updated the key modules related to likes of LKA/ACC/Auto Headlight/Speed Sign Recognition etc and refuted any requirement/need to update the infotainment software beyond R40 that was already on it. To be fair, I've not had any issues or felt the need to turn anything off in pre-flight and find everything just works as-is.

Retrospectively, there is also some sense in the dealer leaving it at R40 as both R46 and R59 appear to introduce other issues for customers to complain about (like star button problem and loss of hotspot respectively)

I took a view uploading R59 myself but on basis of knowing certain modules had been updated/were already working well and a personal preference for having the LKA shortcut on drop-down menu over losing hotspot functionality. In real terms - I've maybe turned LKA off twice during driving, so arguable the difference is negligible. Oh, and the A/C bar at top of screen in CarPlay, which is utterly pointless as doesn't actually do anything...

I would love a car to have a central joystick, 100% drive by wire, pull back to accelerate, push forward to brake, tilt left/right to steer, all configurable with regards sensitivity, resistance feel (progressive/linear etc). No problems with left/right hand drive when it's centrally located between the seats. Display in the centre that can be tilted to the left or right depending on which seat the driver chooses or simply use heads-up display. Surprised it's not on some upmarket cars yet. Steering wheels are so outdate as are floor mounted pedals.

Nope.

I'm right handed so wouldn't be comfortable using my left hand for controlling the car.

Would obviously have to get used to it, if it ever happened, but I will have been pushing up daisies for a fair while by then!

On the subject of software, does anyone have to keep pairing their phone?

Mine keeps losing it , R40.

I did before the update and still do.
Monthly I reckon.

Ah ok thanks, i am daily at the moment?.
Also when reversing and going into forward, camera screen stays on now, did not at first.

Only in the last few weeks so in my case might be the latest iOS update that has caused the issue. Once again highlighting the need for free and frequent infotainment updates for any car to keep it compatible with new handsets and OS
