Both are probably correct ... as it's most likely an Air Sourced Heat Pump

Correct. Could be the difference.
But even heatpumps can be regulated downwards to produce less heat.

I am struggling to get the hang of the AC. The auto setting puts air on recycle which especially when combined with ECO does warm the cabin up but steams up the windows and gives poor air quality as it is recycling. So recycle is off, then 24C is too cold (usually but maybe not first thing in the morning) and 25C is usually too cold unless on Eco. Heated steering wheel and seats make 25 bearable but still a bit cold on legs so I reckon I need to try 26C. From reading above maybe I need to try clearing the screen and warming the feet. Is that right?

I am not convinced behaviour is consistent. One thing I do know is that recycle sucks on this car. Also on Auto I get very little air flow. 6 provides a decent amount.

25° seems to be perfect for me. Although I am a bit of a frozen @rse. Same with me house. I ain't being cold for no one.

The air flow in Auto is adjustable in one of the menus, high medium or low IIRC.

Switch it to Auto, then go into the HVAC screen and toggle the air intake to take air from external

You definitely need some fresh air coming in to avoid misting. But then you need to up the temperature when cold outside. I have the car in ECO so that might save energy with regards to warming the air.

I have mine set to full LO when I'm too hot, or to HI when I'm too cold. I only have the fan speed set to 1 or 2 though.

Always interesting to learn of different perspectives. On the air intake front, it has never occurred to me other than to have it set all the time - on this or any previous car. OK, temporary change if I am in a tunnel with non-moving traffic, but that exception proves the rule for me.
