Our wait was just under 2 weeks. According to our sales rep they were flat out pre delivering so many cars bought during the sale period. My car was delivered in a spotless condition, fully charged and ready to go so I was happy to wait.

Yeah, it's luck of the draw on colours, sometimes. I stopped by Wangara after trading hours last week and saw 8 orange Excites, including 4 lined up end to end and ready to go.

I'm waiting on a blue, and apparently John Hughes had a lot of whites in stock.

Welcome to #teamblue when you get it!

I chatted with a BYD owner today. He said ‘It’s a shame EV’s cost more in Co2 emissions to build than ‘ordinary cars’. 🤨
I said ‘Really….. I thought BYD’s factories had enough solar panels to power Italy!’ 🤔

Overall I think there is a higher CO2 cost to build an EV than an ICE car, but it's fairly quickly paid off by the much lower CO2 running costs.

Depending on where in the world you live*, EV car CO2 total (including manufacture) reaches parity with an ICE car within 2-4 years and then an EV becomes increasingly less polluting vs an ICE.

* i.e. depending on the power source make-up of that geography's electricity grid - some places still rely much more on coal and gas.

My MG4 77 is an excellent EV but these accessories I bought for it make it even better, by making the car much cooler inside, keeping it clean and adding convenient extra features

I got interviewed by Aussie YouTuber Sarah on her Electrify This channel for her "Ask An EV Owner" series , in car while driving my MG4 77 around local streets

You should do a long road trip - inland - perhaps Sydney - Broken Hill see how good the charging infrastructure is.
That would be cool but realistically a 26hr driving round trip like that to a remote area won't happen unless a lot more people contribute to my Support Me page [moderator - link removed]

Sydney 280 km Yass 184 km Wagga 267 km Hay 290 km Mildura 296 km Broken Hill

All access Tesla Superchargers located at all the above except Broken Hill.

Not a good location to travel to at present with the HV transmission line servicing the Broken Hill area out of action after being brought down by a storm a couple of weeks ago.

Tesla loses top spot to MG in EV sales charts

The MG 4 has taken a unique place in Australian automotive history, becoming the first electric vehicle (EV) to outsell Tesla in a month – at least since the US brand started publishing local sales figures more than two and half years ago.

In October 2024, MG delivered 1486 examples of its small electric hatchback, almost doubling its previous monthly sales record of 835 deliveries set in November 2023, and more than tripling its monthly average of 419 deliveries between January and September.

So how much was the cheapest MG during Octobers discount? Add how far will China’s EV makers go to sell cars to an ‘Non tariffing’ country?

The result of the price drop...
Strange too that my local MG dealership at Noosa. Closed on the last day of the sale! Now we have to go Maroochydore or Gympie to get service!
