Hi
Is anybody having any issues with MG ismart app. When I try to connect I get message stating The remote control feature failed, please try again later.
Vehicle status etc not working same message.
Does anybody else have same issue and how do I rectify
Thank you

The simple answer is to wait and it will return. Unlocking the car sometimes works. Refreshing the status a number of times sometimes works. Using the car sometimes works. I assume that you are not in a mobile blindspot and the app worked previously in that location.

My guess is that SAIC only have one server and if more than a few people try to use the app at the same time it can't cope. As @Martinonline says, sometimes (but by no means all, or even most, of the time ) unlocking then locking the car by remote or door handle button can encourage it to cooperate, but I find that even then I have to get the app to scan the car before it'll give me battery charge info etc.

I had that this week. Following a power cut while charging ismart stopped working. Could not restart it by unlocking and relocking, or by starting up, stopping, and relocking. Was charging to full for a trip so just let it finish. Tried next morning before setting off. No joy. Back home now. Need to charge again. It's working! So just wait.

But, I'm not sure if the power cut triggered something to break the link between the car and the app? In which case the issue is with the car software rather than the app??

Mines has worked then not again a few times and when not working the car is located in Belgium.
Just keep trying and works sometimes. The maps etc all work just any links to car.
Contacted mg. Europe iSMART and there analysis is that there could be any issue with vehicles telematics box. If it persists contact dealer to do a vehicle diagnostic and check TBOX in a high priority
Create a SNW ticket
If TBOX is with error do a replacement of TBOX with SIPS
If my problem persists I will do that and report back
I think it is a network issue like others suggested

There are loads of references to this problem throughout these forums. It has been an issue for ever and a day. It happens all the time when the car is left for only a day or two untouched and goes into what people have referred to as a 'deep sleep' when it needs a physical key/button unlock to re-awaken it. Then the remote will work again perfectly.

For me this is particularly useless and annoying when trying to make sure that all is well by logging-in (very infrequently so as not to lower the 12v battery) when I am abroad.

Some have said that updating the car's software helps. I may find out for sure after the first service, later this month ... but I seriously doubt it. It is the very poor iSmart app that needs rebuilding, or at least sorting out.

I reckon my success rate on connecting is about 1:5

Just to update, my recent service and update to R63 software has made no difference ... the mechanic just laughed and said that iSmart [what a misnomer!] is far beyond their remit!

I wish ... as far as I am concerned, once it has gone to sleep, that's it - until I physically go outside and manually unlock the car door. Then it wakes up and responds immediately again. It takes little more than a day to go back to its 'deep sleep' ('don't disturb me!') mode once more. Totally useless!

I find that just locking the doors (even if already locked) using the key fob is usually enough. Our carport is just outside two windows, so that's easy for me to do without having to go out to the car.

Same here - usually. Sometimes though I need to go out to the car and physically sit in it and put it into the Ready state.

Excuse me, that's not an answer to the problem, that's an emergency workaround at least.

The connection of the app is catastrophic.

Unfortunately you will see this Forum is littered with helpful tips to get around problems that arise. It is postulated that the car 'goes to sleep' after a while and does not respond to App requests. I answered the original poster with advice that has has been known to trigger the car to wake up and respond.

I'm sorry if you consider this advice 'an emergency workaround'.

Similar problem here. App freezes at MG logo, while initiating.
The second device, My wife's phone, was authorised as family member, now says that this has been revoked - I did no such thing.
