First Frost today. 😬

Maybe carry a thermos flask of warm water too just in case, to pour around the flap area ?

Add tea to that hot water m8.

You'd be better off drinking it!

Two large sink bowls of warm water were not opening my frozen flap last night.

I could have plugged in a hairdryer..........

Wait a minute....!🤣

I'm laughing, but it isn't funny when your in your long john's and slippers, with no hat and it's sleeting.

3 trips I made like that, and don't forget my front door is 50 meters away from the car.

First sub-zero morning for me too. Use my homeassistant app to turn on the defrost front/back, seats and wheel heating at 7am, went out at 7:10 car was toasty and ready, forgot it was even 0 degrees! A bit of a change from the old 2014 hyundai..

I think it's the lock mechanism that freezes not the seal to the flap.

I think it can be a combination of the two.
I've experienced it enough now though, to last me.

Nothing worse than an inanimate object defying your will.

I've belt and braces the bloody thing now.

Red automotive grease on the rubber seal and ACF50 in the mechanism.

I tried the remote heating this morning. Seemed to work, nicely defrosted after a couple of minutes, but when I got in the car to drive away it would not turn on. I had to exit the car, lock it, turn off the HVAC using the app, then unlock the car and get in and all was fine. Cannot remember if I pressed the brake pedal. Any thoughts?

Forgot to say, it's mid way between SW updates - dealer had it all day last week and it still wanted more updates to be done, so due in in December for two days to get them finished up. Then they can look at the other niggles. Had an electric Mokka as a replacement - OK inside, but surprisingly low mileage on a full 'tank' and a bit slow.

You need to press the brake pedal to cancel the remote HVAC. (I did this very thing this morning).

Whilst I have an SE SR I can't see the operation of HVAC being any different in the X-Power.

Ta! I cannot remember if I tried that, but will give it a go tomorrow.

I would have simply used the app to remote defrost (with the car locked) ;)
I've finally got connected to the app today, after having to contact MG to get it unbound from its previous owner.
So when you turn on the HVAC using the app, does it just come on exactly as you left it when you powered the car down?

No - it comes on at whatever temperature you set in the app, and possibly full blast. I only use it to defrost the car in cold weather (so set the temperature to HI), or to cool the car in hot weather (although I've not experienced such not-enough conditions yet to warrant doing this). :)

Thanks, I see now, I didn't see the options in the app when I looked earlier, and I also see the heated seat/s can be turned on. (y)
