What you having for your Tea/Dinner, tonight. ?

I really enjoyed eating haggis when I worked up in Edinburgh, especially the free range stuff, :) but I like faggots of the eating variety too.

You wouldn't really know it was offal when you eat it.
Had to Google what a "faggot of the eating variety" was, the mind was spinning regarding a specialty dish Hanabal Lecter would enjoy

We are looking forward to Beef and red wine pies, with potato big round chips done in the air fryer and baby peas :D It was going to be pie floaters, but we didn't have any of the cheap plain pies left, it would have been a waste to use these gourmet pies for that ......

Spent last week taking 7 sheep to the abattoir and then butchering and jointing them , best bits , liver, heart and kidneys in onion gravy with mashed spuds. Next best , skirt , roasted until crispy then chewed and crunched like pork scratchings. French BP is awful , ( no pun ) sorry Archev you are wrong , see if you have enough range to get you to Bury Market the official centre of the BP universe.! You can get it at Tescos in vacuum packs , but not quite the same.

Aye the Bury stuff is good and comes a commendable second to Stornoways speciality IMHO 🤪
My Dad started working life as an apprentice Blacksmith and often had folk come in to the smiddy with a sheep’s head to have the hairs singed off with a red hot iron bar. The head was then boiled with veggies to make wonderful Sheep’s heid broth. Fine if it’s a wee bit Salty and you don’t know what’s in it 😉

That is known as a deluxe bake dinner on a lazy cooking night .... the standard bake dinner is just Aldi bake beans on toast with shredded lactose free cheese on top .... Love fried Black Pudding, have a few specialty small goods butchers around the area that make a really good one.

Now that IS bloody offal 🤣 - but I like it. Have you tried the black pudding from the centre of the BP universe ? - Stornoway 👌

Can't say I have. But it would have to go some. To beat, Bury Black Puddings, from
Bury Market. Where you can also get Parched Peas, and Baby Potatoes with loads of Butter! Mmmm! 🙂👍

I'm having a week in Stornoway at the end of May next year ... looking forward to sampling the fayre. 😎

(Just waiting for Calmac to publish their summer '25 timetable so I can book the bloody ferry) 🙄

Their nice new rapid build boat should be on the Arran run then I think so that’ll free off a rowing boat for the Stornaway smooth crossing 🤩🤩

Lovely chatting but I gotta go make my haggisarnies and go. The Citroën awaits with its preferred breakfast of watts in wires and I’ve no idea where we might go. I’ll post a picture.
