New owner questions

Do I take it that your daily mileage is on the low side as charging an empty(ish) 64kWh battery with a granny will take considerable time?

Yep, on average about 40 miles a day.
I charge about every 3 to 4 days. Bearing in mind it's winter and I don't tend to hang about, it's just too tempting in a X Power. 😉
Like I say suits me fine at the moment.
🙂👍

So, on the subject of Type 2 cables - as the MG5 can charge at 11kW, does that mean dealers are supplying 3 phase 32A cables or is that wishful thinking? 🤔

MG4s come with single phase 32A which makes sense as car can only charge @ c.7kW AC.

Granny is of limited use and you have to be careful how and where you use it.
I ran my car off the granny for 3 months and while it worked ok I did have to keep an eye on the socket for overheating, buy a heavy duty extension cable and a water proof connection cover. Of course ymmv :)
Probably should have been clearer.
I live in Bath but my home is in Cornwall, so my 'longer' trips are down to mid-Cornwall for a few days. With the Tesla software update I can charge at Exeter or Lifton and by the time I arrive 'home' I still have a good % charge and 10 hours will give me another 33%.
The car doesn't get a huge amount use whilst away (could easily leave it on charge for ~30 hours for a 100% charge).
I've got a Hager BS 1363-2 EV specific IP66 socket on a chunky supply so happy for a continuous 10 amps, I suppose if anything I should be concerned with the lower efficiency of the granny.

I could get a proper charger installed in Cornwall (as I have in Bath) but I'll be dead soon so would never recoup the cost :)

My MG5 was supplied with a single phase cable.

Wishfull thinking for the MG5. My dealer advised me against paying for the MG cable and getting one from Amazon.
