As per above, this is now out. Nothing obviously changed from a brief look. The app page on Google says:

1. Ability to disable PIN code verification
2. Added step by step binding instructions
3. Added Freinds and family access card
4. Updated EV management page

1. I can't find where you disable the pin code 🤔. I can change it O.K. but disabling it is not so obvious.

3. I can't try it out fully until I get home, but Friends and family looks useful.

4. I'm not sure when it would be useful but the odometer reading seems new to me.

2. Added step by step binding instructions
Wow. That could reduce the average number of posts per day on this forum!

If they did it right.

We seem to have a different branch of the iSmart code here in Australia, so we likely won't see these changes for a while. If ever.

Edit: Though as I was poking around looking for the version number (I didn't find it, had to use Android Settings/apps/iSmart and scroll down to the bottom), I stumbled across a well hidden Vehicle Binding Guide. For us, you have to press the double harpoon arrow () button near the top of the main screen, then + in the top right corner of the next screen. So natural, right? 🤔 So maybe we got it months before UK users, even if few users would have found it!

For those who care, the double harpoon character ⇌ is Unicode U+21CC.

Not seeing an odometer reading - where is this, please?
I have the Apple version V2.0.9. If I click on the MG icon bottom left then click on the car under a canopy top right, it takes me to Vehicle management, then click on the car it shows me the odometer. If you click on the + top right it takes you to the binding guide.
Not sure if this is the same for android, but I would think so or near abouts.

Yes - the odo reading is there on Android too. Like you I don't recall seeing that before ... but then again I can't remember the last time I looked in there. :)

The Friends and Family item I guess is the Secondary Account option under the smiley face icon?

With this version i can't see the charging status, the loading goes timeout after 30 seconds. Everything else works just fine

I don't know when the change occurred, but one glaring omission I noticed has been fixed, is that you can refresh the car's position directly from the find car page now.

On "find car" I can now see what appears to be position of my iPhone as well as car? Don't remember seeing that before. I guess to help you find car.

That's always been on Android.

What's the friends and family thing for. Does it me two users can use the app at the same time.
I think it means more than one user can have the car associated with their account. (The car is only bound to one account, but other accounts can access certain car features in their accounts if the master account has added them. That's my take on it anyway). :)

What does it specifically mean by account.

We have one car. An MG ZS EV. We both have the app downloaded. It's the same app but only one of us can be connected at any one time. The login phone number and password we use to login is the same for both of us. If I am not logged in but the wife is and I then login, it kicks her out and vice versa.

With the new app can we both be logged in at the sane time with either

1. Both getting the sane functionality or
2. One getting full functionality and the other part functionality

Or is it still that only one of us can ever be logged in at anyone time.

The information the app gives in the i button does not tell us this.

I am reluctant to start messing with it until I know exactly what it will do, less it anadvertanly and irreversibly knocks one of us off of using the app.

Make sure you both have the same version of the app.

You do need to create a 2nd account.

When inviting someone, check the phone country code and number are in the correct format - it can be pulled from your phone book wrongly depending on how you store them.

Think of it as the car is the account, you are users of the account.
I'd suggest not thinking of it this way ... you can have several cars bound with your account. Plus you can use several devices logged in to the same account (not concurrently) ... it's taken a long time for people to get their heads around the fact that the account is master, not the device (phone), so let's try to not go down that road again. :)

Think of it like a Windows PC which has an Admin account and User accounts - the Admin account has all the functions and privileges and the User accounts have a subset. So the car is the PC. :)

I tried making another account, and my wife is logged in the same time as me, and can manage the app like before (like when only one person was logged in). It works, but we have to test it out more to see if any bugs occur.

With the new version there is a new theme (100 years). It is darker, and with a completely new GUI. Looks much newer, but the functionality seems to be the same. Good upgrade!
