MG3 hybrid + insurance

Hi all just thought I would share with you my experience on insurance renewal.
I purchased my MG3 hybrid + in early September and my current insurer LV
having made adjustment charged pro rata To £574 per annum until renewal due in early January.
When I received renewal quote of £553 earlier this week I of course I ran this thru compare the market website and was pleasantly
surprised to be offered a quote of £351 from AA insurance -- Happy Days

Very interesting you got LV to insure a MG3 yet they refused my MG

I had been with LV for years then last May they wanted a ridiculous figure to renew my Corolla hybrid insurance. I rang to get the price down, but they wouldn't budge, so I went to Aviva.
On the Toyota forum other hybrid drivers reported the same. I got the impression that LV don't want vehicles with any sort of battery / electrification.

Ditto AA was by far the best, didn't need a reg number either.

That's strange, is your certificate valid with no REG number on it?

If AA did not ask for the Reg. number what number is on your Certificate of cover?

I don't recall we bought the car in July, we informed them of the reg number once we had it.

I expect the VIN was enough.

Our insurers at the time Shielas wheels refused cover for the MG3 so we went with the AA who were also the cheapest and didn't need a reg number.
