You are very welcome !.It's an MG dealer, so no f help at all. I thought about doing several equalisation charges on a 7kw charger starting tomorrow. Thanks for your help and fingers crossed
This forum is a wealth of good information from other owners who have suffered in the same way as yourself.
When some cars where affected by buggy software that entered in to the system, when some updates where applied to the car like the Comfort 2 update etc.
That is where the problems started !.
To correct this error, the BMS update was applied to rectify the problem of reduced range etc.
Owners using D/C rapid chargers, were just making the problem even bigger and putting the HV pack more and more out of balance.
Some cars that were charging on a A/C supply and only recently updated, were affected less so.
The recommendation from MG was to inform the affected owners, to use either a wall box or a Granny and charge to 100% and leave the car connected.
At 100% the car would then commence the balancing process.
If you are able to monitor the length of time it takes to complete the balance, it will give you a rough indication of the level of imbalance in the pack.
IF the battery IS out of balance, don’t worry it will recover !.
It just make take numerous balance cycles to recover the balance in the pack.
I you need to do more research on the forum on this subject, then type “BMS Update” in the search ? field at the top of the page.
Word of warning, it will be a long read but it offers a huge insight of information.
My car was one of the first cars to receive the BMS update, the day after it was first released !.
So I understand what it is like alright !.
