Hadn’t experienced this one before, was quite surprising. Parked the car into a driveway, locked it and came back out after 1hr. Tried to reverse out but couldn’t select Reverse. Just would not light up. Drive was fine, so was Neutral. Put the car into Drive, drove forward 1cm (not much room left) and then tried to reverse. Still wouldn’t select. Shut down the car from the centre console, switched it back on with the brake. Still wouldn’t enable reverse. Absolutely nothing behind the car. Got out the car, closed the doors, switched it off and back on again. Then all was good…

Anyone else experienced this?

Is there a Reset function? I had this on my Tesla's and my Xpeng G9 (press and hold two buttons on the steering wheel), but I can't seem to find it in the Cyberster manual.

I have also had this problem. Bought my car in October and was fine for a few months. Started exhibiting the same fault as you have described in December and has happened at least a dozen times since then. When the problem first started, I found that pressing the reverse button more firmly seemed to work but as time has gone on it has got to a stage where sometimes it can be several minutes before I can engage reverse. I have tried all the suggestions that you mentioned above but nothing so far none of them seem to work for me consistently. I visiting the dealers this week but of course the fault is intermittent so will probably not manifest itself whilst I am there.

IT problems. Restarting or resetting always helps. Before onlookers say typical EV. I met someone who experienced this on a Ferrari 812 Superfast. 🙃.

Does it always happen at the same location for you? Mine has only occurred on my dad's driveway so far, so trying to determine if it's due to something there or a general bug. Last time it happened, I selected Neutral, the car started rolling backwards and then I managed to select reverse!

It first happened to me when I was going to reverse into our drive. Car was diagonally across the road with no room to move forward. Result was blocking traffic in both directions. This happened a couple of times which then made me decide to drive in forwards. Has happened multiple times on the drive but not in the garage. Experimented today on the drive selecting the buttons in every possible combination but it took on average one and a half minuets to get reverse selected each time. So, the answer to your question is that it does seem to happen around my house. It still does not give me confidence to park anywhere if I need to reverse.

So the issue is selecting reverse to park the car, so it has already been out and about and this manifests at the end of the journey? Mine is the opposite, I can't select reverse on my dad's driveway upon starting the car. The other annoying thing, if i instead reverse back onto his drive, then the doors don't open as the car is on a cross slope (where the passenger side is higher than the driver). So I'm wondering if the tilt of the car is causing the problem.

Not sure if it's me getting older, but been a few more times where I couldn't select Reverse but in other geographical locations. However, it was quickly resolved by pushing heavily down on the brake pedal then selecting... Next test... try this out on the driveway where it's consistently had problems....

Actually scratch all that... Just spent the last 5 mins trying to reverse the car on my own driveway. There must be something dodgy. Finally managed it by putting the car in neutral, let it start rolling, then select Reverse.

I am convinced that it is a software bug or the switch itself that is faulty, sometimes making contact and other times not. All other functions D, N and P all work all of the time. Up to now it only seems to be you and me on the forum that are experiencing the problem. We both have a Trophy. I purchased mine in October and it was part of the first mass delivery to the UK. My drive is flat by the way so no chance to get it to roll in neutral. Will have to visit a dealer soon.

Yep, Trophy from the first batch that arrived in Oct as had ordered it when it was first priced back in April.

Now I'm completely unable to select Reverse at all so it's stuck on my driveway! Think it's a dodgy switch rather than a software bug. Next step, call the garage on Monday.
Have driven it just over 1500 miles.

At least managed to enjoy it with the top down for the last week, and even saw it reach an average of 4.7 miles/kWh at one point. Also had another bizarre bug, on Friday morning, the car had switched itself to km. Had no idea until I was driving through town and it was telling me i was speeding when I was crawling along... It was saying that the speed limit was 20 km/h! Took me a while to find the right screen & menu to revert it back to Imperial units.
