Hi all! First post here, so please be gentle...
Long story short, I test drove an XPower and loved it. I ordered one a few days later, and it should be with me in a week or two.

However, my daily commute is about 46 miles round trip, with about 38 of those being dual carriageway/motorway.

I initially thought I could charge the car every other day at home, but some places online suggest otherwise.

What's your experience? Will my plan work?

Cheers

To the forum. You will easily be able to charge every other day, if not every 3rd day. No problem even in Winter.
Congrats on your new X Power. 🙂👍

Best and worst range I have seen from the GOM (guess o meter) at 100% charge is 238 and 181
Best and worst efficiency I have seen is 3.6 miles/kWh and 2.2 Miles/kWh which is real World 222 to 135 miles from a 100% charge. That is from a mix of Winter and Summer driving and Motorway and around town trips. That is over 6,500 miles and 15 months of ownership.

46 miles a day would mean a 100% charge every 2 days worst case and 5 day best case

Yes, with that sort of mileage you’re in the range of 25-35% battery use per day. 7kW home charger adds approx 10% per hour after conversion losses. My commute is 135 miles round trip, using 65-75%. Although I rarely do more than two consecutive days, it’s easy to manage having sufficient charge, using just the cheap EV dual tariff rate (12-5am) adding 50% a go. Best part is that running costs go from 12ppm to 3ppm + no engine to maintain and negligible wear on brakes due to regen. 👍

… and, you get a massive amount of fun thrown in! 🫣🤣

Hi there, pick my Xpower up 10th March, can’t wait, Matt Racing Green !!👍

Thanks all. Definitely feeling a bit better about my decision now. Will update when the car arrives!
My 2p worth: currently run 2024/74 5SE, commute 60 miles/day on full mix of roads with 12 mile A34 stretch. Work lates and it’s winter so battery gets a hammering on the way home. Usually top up every other day just because I’m a bit windy about day 3. Used to spend £150 pcm on ICE ZS 1.5, spending under £20 pcm on Octopus Intelligent.
Car was on a 48m/6kpa pcp.
Just browsing the other day and found something interesting on carwow, mailed my supplying dealer (for both 5 & ZS).
For a moderate deposit slash equity settlement (won’t state it but about two weeks take-home) and the price of a takeaway once a month, I’m upgrading to Camden Grey XP 😊😊😊😊
