Had my MG ZS EV for 3 weeks now , and still learning, but enjoying the car.

I have been trying out the Speed Assist function. It had it set to "on", and "intelligent assist". Whenever the camera picked up a speed sign, the car alerted me with a series of "bongs" that lasts for two minutes and a high pitched beep and a yellow warning triangle in the instrument pack which also continue to show for two minutes. This noise occurs each time a new speed sign is detected, even when I have not exceeded the speed limit. I have now switched the system off. How do I set the speed assist system up in such a way that I do not have to endure that level of noisy alerts ...

I think you need the Comfort 2 update by the sounds of it. One of the things it does is get rid of all of those bongs!

I haven't used speed assist yet. My understanding is that if it is set to manual it behaves like a normal cruise control and on intelligent it slows you down to the detected speed limit (and back up i assume). Is this your experience or am I talking rubbish?

The car has the comfort 2 update. I made sure that was done before I took delivery of the car.

I have not noticed the car slowing down when I exceed the speed limit, the speed assist system only provides the noisy feed back ...

I think that (not a definite 'know' yet) the beeps come from the Navigation System when the vehicle receives GPS data that there is a change in speed limit coming up. Then there is a higher pitched beep when the new lower limit is passed. Does not appear to work when going from any zone except 100 kph. Does not work when going from a lower limit to a higher limit. Only works if the Navigation system has been activated. (New Zealand)
