Just been asked a trick question. If ZS EV manages 4kwh with careful driving what is the mpg equivalent?

According to t'Internet a gallon of petrol is equivalent to 33.6kwh.

So, 4 miles to the kwh gives (4 x 33.6) = 134.4mpg

Or am I totally befuddled?
Sounds about right. Especially when you look through this site MG ZS EV

Yes. My attempt at an answer! Failed the test I think!

I assume you mean 4 miles per Kwh ?

If so then using our Octopus rate of 5p /kwh thats £0.05 /4 = 1.25p per mile.

Take current cost of diesel at £1.33 per ltr x 4.55 = £6.05 per gallon

Divide £6.05 by 1.25p = 484 miles per the cost of 1 gallon of diesel

I appreciate that, if you can get it use my referral code for £50 off Octopus charges too.
If only Octopus could get off their backsides and get the smart meter they installed in November last year working then I would happily move to their GO tariff.

Using your model is dependent on the cost of petrol/diesel and the cost of electricity which will be different for each of us. Should someone with solar panels use 0p per kwh?

Someone with solar panels might well use a negative figure I guess.
