Today and my first full charge at home, forgot to check battery level before I started but the GOM was reading 85 miles remaining in eco mode (3). Cleared all previous data and charged using a new 13amp 10mtr Teison granny charger that I purchased. Left the car on charge for 11 hrs at the start of the charge the led on the charger box was flashing and at the end showing steady which according to the manual shows charging is complete. Checked the data again now reading 160 miles in the GOM in eco mode (3) and battery data displayed 455 volts and 1 amp wondering if this sounds correct? The charge cost me £4.35 on my standard rate, I have one other question regarding people mentioning the 'MG' light flashing during charge then steady during battery maintenance and finally going out. Not sure I was looking in the right place but I did not see any flashing or steady light?

If you have cleared the trips, on a full charge it should show 163miles in Normal3.
If yours is showing 455volts you have an old version of the BMS - surprising given this is your first full charge at home as that suggests that your car is quite new......not good....

The car is a 2021 manufactured in 2021.

Has anyone ever achieved a figure of 212 miles from a full charge when running in mode 3 eco mode?
If everybody was to reset there Accumulated and current journey trip meters by "long press OK" after a full charge, they will all see the range around 160 mark. Range is predicted by computer based on driving history and resetting history would reset the range meter.
I have seen predicted range of 212 but I never achieve the same, because every day is not the same and every trip is not the same either. On an average 160 miles off a full battery is what I always end up achieving in summer.
Range much higher than 160 can be achieved by careful driving over from full to empty in one or two legs on country roads.

To get a real world 212 miles from a charge would require 5 miles per kwh.

No chance over that distance imo.

I don't take much notice of the GOM tbh. Summer....plan on 3.5 miles per kwh. Winter plan on 2.7 miles per kwh.
Those suggested miles of 2.7 & 3.5 per kWh match pretty accurately with what EV Database are quoting for Combined 'Real Range', especially if using A/C, etc ?

Real Range - between 95 - 210 mi

City - Cold Weather140 mi / 3.29 kWh
Highway - Cold Weather95 mi / 2.24 kWh
Combined - Cold Weather115 mi / 2.71 kWh

City - Mild Weather210 mi / 4.94 kWh
Highway - Mild Weather120 mi / 2.82 kWh
Combined - Mild Weather155 mi / 3.65 kWh

Indication of real-world range in several situations. Cold weather: 'worst-case' based on -10°C and use of heating. Mild weather: 'best-case' based on 23°C and no use of A/C. The actual range will depend on speed, style of driving, weather and route conditions.

Forget what it says in the GOM (as the reading depends on the mode the car is in and if you have air con on or not).

To get a consistent reading of range when fully charged open the boot before disconnecting the charging cable. On the dashboard display it should read 100% and between 160 - 168 miles depending on temperature.

I am very sorry to tell you this but your car has not got the 2021 BMS firmware installed otherwise it would show 450V fully charged not 455V (+/-1).

Furthermore, if you definitely have fully AC charged and balanced, and reset the trips, a reading of 160 on the GOM in Eco(3), means that there is something wrong with your car - I would guess it has the bad BMS installed from 2020.

A good (100% SOH) car with both trips reset, after a full AC charge and fully balanced, will show 163miles (maybe +/-1) in NORMAL(3). In ECO(3) it will show 17x miles.
(Don't fully start the car when you take the readings - foot not on brake pedal & press start button)

I would suggest you do a few full AC charges and FULL balances. Then if after resetting trips you are still not getting pretty much 163miles in normal(3), you need to take a trip to a knowledgeable dealer.

I very much also recommend spending £10-20 on an ODB2 dongle to enable you to check out what is really going on with your car.

The only other possible cause I can think of, is that your battery has degraded a fair bit already - very high mileage/lots of rapid charges done?

It certainly does not have very high mileage it has only done 180 miles and it has only had 3 charges in total.

Wouldn't the bad BMS only give at best a 450v max voltage though, not 455v ?
