Since the recent infotainment software update my system has crashed several times (no significant problems before). Last crash wiped radio presets. Anybody else finding things worse since "upgrading"?

That's NOT a fix then ???.

Especially since it wasn't broken...

...or they just haven't done it right. Take it back and get it re-applied.

Before the update mine never went blank as I was driving, just occasionally took a couple of minutes for the home screen to come on, sound and reversing camera usually came on straight away.
After the update it has blanked whilst driving once, but soon came back on (within 20 seconds at a guess) and the blank screen at boot up occurs at about the same frequency.
So it doesn't seem to have made much difference.
