Unexpected discovery of free bonus spares kit!

Opposite the drive where our 5 lives is an enormous pine tree which throughout the winter sheds copious quantities of needles that get everywhere. After last night's weather the drive and car was carpeted in them. Taking advantage of the morning sunshine I was clearing them up - they are little b---ers to sweep up and get into all the cracks and gaps - eg the rear spoiler, round the windscreen and, of course, the back of the bonnet.

In order to fish the remaining needles and leaves out I opened the bonnet for only the second time since we got the car in April.

In amongst the pine needles at the bottom of the windscreen in the channel I found a generous selection of spare fastenings - self taping screws and machine bolts.

They were lodged in the channel between the back of the cover and the bottom of the windscreen. Seem to be unused so I guess left there since the assembly line. Two sizes of self-tapers, and two sizes of machine bolts. Might come in handy one day, and the reduction in total weight should add a few nanometres to the range.

Might be worth looking for the bits of your car that haven't been fastened on?

I'm still hoping to get one next year. More than a week ago my dealer (ex Mitsu, now MG) promised to ring me later.
