One of our customers is doing a charity drive from Manchester to Gibraltar to raise money for Walking With The Wounded.
Full info here: 3400 Mile Gibraltar EV Challenge
Originally planned to use a ZS EV in 2020, due to delays (Covid restrictions) they are now attempting it next week in a MG5 Long Range. It's just over 1700 miles each way.
"The fundamental purpose of this road trip is to raise money for struggling military veterans but by driving 3400 miles (1700 miles non stop each way) in an affordable family electric car we aim to raise awareness of climate change and the duty we all have to protect the very planet our veterans have sacrificed so much to keep free and to bust myths about electric vehicles and their capabilities.
We will set off from GMP Force Headquarters on Monday 8th November 2020, arriving at Gibraltar on Wednesday 10th where our good colleagues from Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP)will escort us to their Head Quarters from the border with Spain. On Thursday 11th (Armistice Day) we will lay wreath with the Commissioner of RGP and later the same day we will be present at the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant by the RGP.
We will be collecting with buckets in Casemates Square on 12th November and on 13th we will begin the return journey. We hope to arrive back in Manchester on Monday 15th."
