MG5 Emergency Vehicle

Spotted this MG5 being used as an emergency vehicle/ambulance on the Flickr site. Personally not seen one myself but wonder if the use of EVs in public service is becoming more widespread?

Wouldn't be particularly viable at the moment as most emergency vehicles are required 24/7 when the current user clocks off a new user likely requires the vehicle

They will have no choice soon so they will need extra vehicles to cover charging times

No doubt we'll get hit with a new 1.25 percent national insurance hike to cover it

That looks like a private company, providing for events etc. where perhaps electricity is available and sitting in the vehicle all day doesn't require the 'engine' running in sensitive environments.

A couple of Police services have a couple of 'trial' Tesla model S's on trial. Often see one at Baldock services on the A1M on charge. Had a chat to one of them a few weeks back, that particular one was being used for driver assessment's. It looked quiet smart with all it's livery on but the fit and finish of some panels was terrible!

Last time I was in Malta, back in 1994, all the Police cars and what seemed like knocking on half of everybody else's cars were Skoda Favorits! They were getting sold cheaply there at the time. I wonder if the same is happening with MG now?

I've seen a Kia EV6 ambulance paramedic car in the Wirral, and a couple of Tesla police cars in Liverpool
