Hi, nice to be part of this forum.
We have quite a few queries regarding our MG5 LR use and issues.
One first one is as I have seen similar recently, but with a "twist".
At 2 weeks and 250 miles on the clock, at our local Tesco checked how to use the PodPoint.
Worked ok, charged for 1/2 an hour.
BUT ,it would not disconnect from the car end, so removed the lead from the charger.
Checked all ok when back home with our Zappi.
Could not charge, a warning on dash and Zappi said - "charge delay" tried did and re connecting 10 times NO different.
Connected the MG granny charger, that worked, reconnected the Zappi, all fine.
It seems as if maybe the car needed an " off" signal from PodPoint - how
Can anyone advise where I went wrong, what NOT to to in future.
Long winded explanation sorry

Free Podpoint need the app to confirm the charge but not to stop it just lock and unlock the car a couple of times, the port locks again very quickly after you unlock.

It sounds as if your port locking mechanism is sticking. You need to be sure that the plug is fully inserted to avoid problems. Next time you are charging try unlocking the car while standing at the front of your car - you should hear the locking mechanism wind back.

I have in the 2 weeks we have had the car to " listen" to the latching of the car eV charge port, to try and relate to that. But the I/ we do not yet fully seem to understand quite what we or the car is doing/ requiring to charge/ disconnect.
Many thanks

My experience is the cable locking sound is more prominent than the unlock. As others when ready to disconnect stand at the front of the car. Cycle lock then unlock on the key fob and pull the car end of the cable out without too much delay. Never had and issue with this approach.

On ours, unlocking the door with the door button then opening a door seems to prevent the plug locking in again.

It does that, got to be quick when you hear it unlocking, been caught out a few times, locking the car then unlocking fixes it for me ?

I normally unlock the car from inside the driver's door even if the doors are already open ,this will unlock the plug from the car.
