    Tomato Energy

They had me curious enough to go into their website but what they quoted me was more than what I’m currently paying Octopus. My average unit rate for the year so far works out at 10.5 pence per kWh. I left Agile once before when it got too expensive during the energy price hikes. I have suffered...

But they are a new company so those ratings are exaggerated by customers just joining posting a review. It’s like rating an insurance company never having made a claim. I’m certainly wary enough not to join them at this moment especially given they quoted me about 25% more than what I pay...

Read the 1 star reviews on Trustpilot. Ignore the good reviews almost all have been given just aafter they joined.

A Space Saver Tyre is a must!

In UK good breakdown cover is a must. I have only ever had one car with a space saver and when I had a blow out in France I had to drive 600+ miles at a max 50mph home. That was painful compared to being brought home on the back of a breakdown truck!

The great big insurance rip off

Direct Line for me has always been way more expensive for me. To say that they are not on comparison websites is not strictly true either since Churchill and Privelige are all one and the same company.

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

Yes, I have already switched to Agile and I compared the prices for the last month and would have saved 9 days out of 10, one day as much as £10. My grid electricity use only goes high between October - February as I use way more electricity with the heat pump than either car. I can control the...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

I don’t have to charge every day, perhaps each car once a week so I will never have to charge a car at expensive rates. If I were that desperate for a charge I could use a public charger. My main issue with higher rates is making sure I have enough battery capacity to see me through and do...

But for me it looks like it would suit my needs better, I am retired, I have solar, ASHP and battery storage. I can easily avoid that 4-8pm peak period using the battery alone. Come summer months I use no peak rate electricity at all.

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

That’s interesting, I was on Agile prior to energy crisis and switched as the prices went through the roof. I have just checked and the rates for the last month at least are generally better and longer periods of off peak that would certainly suit me better as I have battery storage, solar and 2...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

I find the MyEnergi app excellent, set schedules on it for Zappi and Eddi and can monitor battery consumption and solar generation from anywhere.

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

It’s nothing to do with Zappi, it’s the Octopus app, I have lost facility to add anything despite deleting and reinstalling on both iPhone and iPad. Waiting on them to come up with a fix.

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

The same rate for the house. I charge batteries and run domestic appliances during same off peak windows at 7.5p Beware, I tried to switch so that IO could integrate with my Zappi, now that app will not connect to any car or device. Octopus have so far been unable to resolve the issue although...

    PodPoint at Lidl

I know that legislation was “temporarily” withdrawn and that the politics behind it are complicated even so I still wouldn’t pay a PCN. Apparently they get in the region of 600,000 unpaid notices every year so they ain’t likely to pursue a single ticket. If everyone refused to pay these notices...

BP Pulse have a subscription which offers cheaper charging rates, the first month is free and £9 credit for the first 5 months.

Ignore PPC notices in Scotland, they can’t enforce it as it‘s only the driver who is responsible not the registered keeper. Different legislation south of the border means they can theoretically pursue it.
