    How's speedo accuracy?

At 31 mph in my 2021 MG5, the nearest grinning radar speed sign displays 30 mph!

    All season tyre choices

I bought 205/60R16 HANKOOK K117 96V XL. £247.98 for my 2021 MG5 at 20,000 miles for the front wheels. The rear tyres show no wear at all as, like my wife, they simply follow (in my dreams). They are quieter! Have you seen the Every Electric Show episode about ENSA tyres? It's going to disrupt...

    Another infrastructure rant!

It seems to be after SWARCO took CPS over. I've been having problems in Scotland with their chargers too. Some charger are fussy and don't charge unless I lock my 2021 MG5 SW after connecting. Most motorway services now seem to have Gridserve chargers which seem reliable if I use the app.

    ChargeMap in Britain

Yes, but I checked this and it seems there's a monthly subscription: Tesla owners pay on a pay-as-you-go basis, with an average price of 67p per kilowatt hour (kWh). There's also a monthly membership for £10.99 per month, which reduces the cost to around 53p per kWh. Non-Tesla owners pay 77p per...

    ChargeMap in Britain

Yes, I have an Electroverse card and Charge Place Scotland was useful until I lost the card! Now I simply charge at home and use the Gridserve app on motorways (up to the end of September when they had 20% discount!).

    ChargeMap in Britain

I find that I can use my Chargemap card with Ionity EV chargers but then have to pay in Euros plus a foreign currency charge. Ionity is expensive at around 89p per kWh; Chargepmap makes it even more expensive. I emailed Chargemap to ask why I pay for electricity in Britain in euros and the...

The great big insurance rip off

Harrumph! When I got to 70, I decided to count down. Now I'm 60!!

The great big insurance rip off

I've got an AA quote for £775 by putting my (younger) wife as main driver. I'm 80 so I think that may be the main reason for the high prices. £330 for an MG4 sounds good by today's standard. Each year I do the painful yet ultimately rewarding process to check every comparision website!

Rear View Mirror Cover Removal(for replacement with dash cam)

Hi shimshon. Did you remove the rear view mirror on your MG5? Is it ust a matter of twist and pull?

2021 MG5 long range exclusive with worn Start button label - how do I take it off to fit Ali-Express-supplied new one?

The ring may be threaded but I was unable to shift it. I couldn't get to the back of the switch or remove the plastic section of the dashboard, so sticking new button cap and ring on top worked well!

2021 MG5 long range exclusive with worn Start button label - how do I take it off to fit Ali-Express-supplied new one?

I've done it! I know, it should be 1 degree anti-clockwise, but it stuck before I could rotate it ?

MG EV Models and trim variations around the world.

Thanks, Coulomb. It may be that I don't have a long range, yet the maths works out better if I pretend the battery is 60 kWh when I determine how many amps to set the Hypervolt charger in order to charge up to 80%. This car seems to agree with the details I found on the EV Database here: MG MG5...

2021 MG5 long range exclusive with worn Start button label - how do I take it off to fit Ali-Express-supplied new one?

My START STOP button is grotty! I bought replacements from Ali-Express, see below. My car is blue but I fancy the red button with a red or blue trim. They look like printed aluminium. Has anyone taken off the old one? Does the START STOP button simply pull out somehow...

    Car not charging PLS help!!!!

With some public chargers (I know yours is a private Podpoint) I used to have to lock the car before charging or it wouldn't charge. Once the charge started, I was always able to unlock it and sit in it with the aircon on and listen to the radio!
