GAP insurance makes sense for everyone buying a new car, even for economists. The poster above may be confused with PCP finance?
GAP covers the difference in value between the car when it is stolen or written off, and a replacement. The first year most insurance policies cover the car 'new...
Agreed. I was a year early! As I tried to renew the tax on the hybrid, I thought 'why did I say it had to be done last march'. However, it did set it for life, if I'd forgotten to do it this March it was already on the right cycle.
I do hope everyone resets their tax year in March.
Hi, I'm the original poster, no need to thank me haha. I re-taxed the MG4 last March, so due this March, and all ok. That's daved me about £170.
However I also have a PHEV hybrid (Mazda MX30 R-EV) bought in September. The tax was £0. But will be £190 when re-taxed for september 2025.
I...
You seem to have missed the point - he has 1 puncture and should have just replaced 1 tyre. He has to replace 2 tyres at double the cost as the required tyre is obsolete.
That is brilliant, I'm really impressed. However, I've got a battery tyre inflator, and I keep it in the car as it's often been useful to top up at work or top up another person's car. What we really need is a good strong charger nozzle holder for your house charger!
2.7 0r 2.8 will improve your m/KWh and prevent alerts.
Probably the front are 2.38 and the rears 2.42 or something and the alert is at 2.39 - without the extra digits visible, it has to be some sort of internal rounding thing. Some displays changed to KPa and that has the extra decimal place...
No, the required pressure is the cold pressure. Blow them up to the correct minimum of say 2.5 bar (I use 2.6) while cold. The pressure will go up when driving, it is designed to correctly if the specified pressure is set when cold. You absolutely should not be driving with a datum pressure of...
I have bought four of these for various family members, they are brilliant. Fast inflation, reliable, easy to use. The price changes but currently the cheapest they've been at £19.99
On my MG4, the rear tow eye cover popped out, but that was on aplastic tether so it was there dangling. Not lost and easy to push back into place. The front sounds a bad design if it doesn't have a tether.
Pads don't really need to bed in, not noticeably to the driver anyway. It's just eco mode has very spongy brakes - compare it to sport mode brakes which are really sharp!
There is no upside to eco, it softens the accelerator response and the brakes too.
I noticed no difference with my Goodyear all-season tyres (or indeed Michelin Crossclimate on a previous car).
One thing that i am convinced makes a tremendous difference is tyre pressure. With mine set to 2.6 bar I got about 2.9-3.0 m/KWh. With them inflated to 2.8 when cold, the rate...
