Stay in car with engine on?

You should see the warning you mention only if you have pressed the stop button. If you have simply put the car in P (park) it will stay on (Ready mode), with the petrol engine stopping and starting as it needs to for charging the battery.

Important Questions before receiving MG3 Hybrid Luxury?

Hello Tom1 - using your first set of numbers: 1 - here in NZ we have lots of step hills and winding roads, but I've simply whizzed up and down with no problems at all. 2 - I don't notice the car changing gears - it's a very smooth ride. 3 - No excessive RPM, though sometimes in EV mode at lower...

    MG3 Hybrid.NOT SO GOOD !. 😡

Really sorry to read of all the problems some owners are having with their MG3s. Here in NZ, we are lucky to have a "Consumer Guarantees Act" - if any item bought turns out to be faulty, not fit for purpose, or as described in the literature, the seller is obliged to exchange for like, or pay a...

    Match detected speed limit acc

My New Zealand MG3 Hybrid Essence has ACC, and recognises speed signs when it can see them. However it does not change its ACC speed to match the speed signs - that's a job for the Driver. ACC seems to rely on the two front cameras (one on the bonnet and one in the top of the windscreen), and...

Mg3 Hybrid Luxury Car accident in the 8th day of ownership

Replacing damaged parts and related work is expensive. I recently had to replace my windscreen, which all up came to NZ$ 1,700. The windscreen was $400, and the rest was adhesives, and labour for the removal of the damaged one, installation of the new one, plus recalibration of the camera and...

2 iPhones: one for carplay via usb A and one for music. How?

There's a socket for one phone to connect via, but that can be overidden by any other phones in the car taking over via bluetooth. If you really need more than one phone at a time, you may need to trade up to a way more expensive vehicle with simultaneous connection options for owner and chauffeur.

Almost knocked down a pedestrian on Christmas Eve

Here in NZ the driver is responsible for their vehicle regardless of any noise it does or does not make. It's quite simple - we're not allowed to hit pedestrians and the driver is usually found at fault. Rare exceptions allow for the court to decide in rare cases where peds really do jump into...

    Speeding

You can silence the built-in navigation sounds/voices in the settings screen. If you can't find it, take a look at the manual - it's all there.

    Larger wheels for MG3 Hybrid?

You can change the wheels, but best to go through your dealer because of not only your warranty, but also they will need to adjust your odometer/km-per-hr readings to suit your new wheel diameter. Likely the system monitoring your tyre pressure will need adjusting too.

    small steering wheel

It's always interesting to read here about what people are asking and how everyone likes/dislikes certain features of their MG3. Before getting mine, I had time on my hands and read the manual a couple of times. It's amazing the detail it goes in to, the answers it has, and just how many...

Balancing the narrative of good and bad

I picked up my car from Tristram MG Auckland on Sept 1, and for me it's 95% joy, and 5% fixed by an easy tweak or two. I love driving 22km on a litre of 95. Using the smart features it offers, I have pretty much delegated everything except steering, but fear not - I watch iSmart operations...

    MG 3 Hybrid Essence Trim

Thank you - that's worked perfectly. Thank you - maybe I need more practice! And also, bringing the sales guy to the car park in question on Friday, and I'll post the anticipated solution after that. These are the wheels on our Essence models in NZ.

    MG 3 Hybrid Essence Trim

MG3 Hybrid Plus Essence is the 'top' model here in NZ - looks the same trim/spec as the Pics, except we have different wheels. Picked up mine on Sunday. Mostly love it - beautiful on the road, excellent driving position, very comfortable. Largely a happy customer. I've managed to turn off all...
