Well, been driving for a day now, not far but have tried out a few of the functions and gimmicks and am generally mightily pleased so far.
I have solved the indicator issue, and as @MG Clive suggested, I just wasn't pushing the lever far enough. I have had two little niggles so far though...
I used black covers when I had my MG4 and they did look good against the orange, but I'm not sure it'd look right on a Nevis Blue IM5!
When you fit them, watch the 3M adhesive tape (or whatever brand is used), it wasn't particularly good at maintaining adhesion on my MG4 covers and I had to buy...
Good point. I'm probably being a little too gentle with the controls currently. Bad memories of breaking off an ignition key in the ignition comes to mind!
Just taken delivery of my IM5 and have been unable to get the indicators to stay on!
A brief flick will give three flashes and then off - as expected, however longer presses also only result in three flashes. No matter how long, or how many times, I press the stalk for, I only get three flashes...
I haven't checked, but if they're simply glued on, I should imagine that should you want to remove them, some alcohol (the non-drinking kind!) and dental floss would do the job efficiently
Ok, here you go - just collected today from Drive MG Bristol North. Ordered 12th September and would have been available last week - but I wasn't!
Only one hiccup, and that was that the main key wouldn't work initially, but then the tech guy realised that the car had been switched to transport...
Just noticed this statement in the Owner's Manual:
Quote - " Privacy (Global Data Service).
Note: After agreeing to the "Privacy Policy", users can turn switch on the Global Data Service and obtain the authorization to use
DVR, Third-party Apps, Map and Voice for 24 months." - my emphasis.
So...
I think (poor memory, me) it was on this forum that someone had mentioned that the IM5 and IM6 for the UK and Euro markets don't have the relevant sensors, nor the matrix headlights other markets seem to have.
Regarding the mats - my dealer said that, as I had the Affinity discount applied, they couldn't afford to give me any freebies!
I'm ordering a set from carmats.co.uk. My MG4 had mats from there and they fitted and wore extremely well.
BTW - has anyone seen anywhere selling a screen protector for...
I can't say, personally, that I would miss this feature to be honest.
My recent MG4 had it and I found it far too slow to react to oncoming cars. However it was only too eager to switch from high to low beams every time it caught a glimmer of a reflection from reflective road signs. There's a...
At last, I've had the call 😁. Nevis blue IM5 to collect on the 16th. Well, it's currently blue but it depends on the wife's opinion as to whether it stays that colour or gets wrapped in metallic purple.
Managed to get insurance through Tesco (£520 fc), so relatively satisfied with that.
Looking...
@Vipar yep, that's what I assumed. But, I'm now getting almost daily emails from the comparison websites, and the quotes I'm getting are decreasing by the day! I think I'll wait to arrange the insurance just 5 minutes before taking delivery!!
@mystreet that is a good site indeed, however I was looking to gather enough interest to obtain a bulk discount with the printer I already use. I was able to offer the MG4 manual for less than £10 and looked to do the same for the IM5.
