Yes, I have done this myself for some time on my MG5. Very convenient location.

I leave the air conditioning on all the time as it is a dehumidifier and removes the mist from the inside of the car on cold days and warm humidity on warm days. I just set the temperature I want and if the air needs directing to the wind screen to demist the press the demist button.

As others have said, it is always worth carrying a 7kw Type 2 cable in the car just in case you have to charge and the charger you have found does not have a cable.

I charge my MG5 standard range once a week on my home 7kw charger over night, so it will go to 100% each time. Only needed to use a rapid charger 4 times in the first year of ownership. Typically it is down to 30% at the end of the week.
