I just went out for a little drive to see if I could get it to behave.

I got in the car, pressed start, connected the phone, I pressed the wheel mic button asked for Google Maps and it said "Oops there is a problem try again later" no clue as to what so I disconnected it all and rebooted the phone and the car and tried again, three times in total, it eventually saw things my way and we set off but the voice guidance was way too loud but at least it was muting the music this time.

So (in simple language for an old fart) how do I get it so my music is loud enough to hear without deafening me and google maps is also loud enough to hear without deafening me too?

On another tack, has anyone caught themselves on the top rear edge of the front doors, they're like razors and I just cut my arm on one.

Have you tried adjusting the volume while the navigation announcement is in progress, I can remember from a previous car that this was the way to adjust the navigation volume.

In the MG4, if you do that then the volume control that gets adjusted comes up on the display as Voice Guidance. I see no reason why the new MG3+ would show differently. :)

When I do it I'm using the right joystick toggling up/down to raise/lower the volume. (It's the easiest control to hand when the voice guidance starts). :)

I'll give it a go if I am ever allowed to drive it again.
As one old fart to another, I guess SWMBO is boss over the car keys? I used to have the same problem but, thankfully she's now given up on driving. Nowadays I just have my own pilot, seeing eye, vocal warnings about mythical cyclists/pedestrians and a louder, but not as accurate Satellite navigator!

I just don't have as much of a social life as wot she has, thank god, who needs people eh, I didn't get where I am today by bothering God or other people.

Kev. Re your android auto thingy...did you get it sorted? Reason for asking is TonyD has got me interested in this wireless business and I've been looking at the Cuarko thing he mentioned. But, I've also seen a review on a Motorola MA1 which seems to be the bee's knees. My phone is a Motorola, but I'm undecided. the Cuarko is 40 quid ish, whereas the MA1 is 60+. Do you have any thoughts on which would be best?

Yes Aitch, it's all working fine, I have a normal thumb drive with the music on plugged into this:-
then plug that into the right-hand USB C socket AA picks it up after a little while, job done and leave the actual AA socket free for your phone.

The other stuff you mentioned is a bit above my pay grade so I've no idea if I need it/them or not :D :D

Does anyone have a picture of the mirror USB? as I looked but didn't see one.

Cheers, Kev. Every little helps in this quest for knowledge. Maybe one of our other whizz kids will chip in with their two-pennorth!

I'm just going through all my MP3 lists, sorting the wheat from the chaff.

I have an MP3 tag list text file if anyone needs anything, I can give a link as they are all in my dropbox.

I was searching for a Cajun title for a week I thought I'd deleted it by mistake, but I found it yesterday on an old thumb drive.

Okay I'm a bit mystified.

I had my MP3s on a ancient Sandisk Razor thumb drive and it worked fine but I wanted to add a few more tunes to it and it proved too small.

I have a 56GB Kingston one about the same age so I loaded all the tunes onto that and I just went down to the car to plug it all back in but it's isn't seeing it at all.

Am I missing something, is the capacity to large or something or have I just forgotten how to link it up, I'm using the same short lead into the USB C socket on the right as before.

Google says:-

The MG3 Hybrid+ has two USB ports in the front, one USB A port for data and power and one USB C port for power only. It also has a USB A power-only port in the rearview mirror and a power-only USB A port in the rear.

I have checked that random tracks play on my laptop and no problem, I have two of these drives so I am dragging them to that to see if it is just a drive issue.

It may be a file system problem during the initial formatting of the USB key or hard disk.

Perhaps the USB port only accepts FAT32, NTFS or similar.
