All sorted, no idea why but it eventually sees both drives now, just the software being mega slow I think but as it isn't even supposed to do data I'll say nowt.

I have many WMA files on my music USB stick and my MG ZS EV Mark 1 plays them without issue. It also shows the Album art, albeit truncated to a circle and with a huge pause button obscuring the centre 30%.

Its infotainment system is supposedly Windows CE based, and WMA is a Microsoft format, so maybe that's why. I believe that later models are based on Android. I'd still expect them to play WMA files, though.

On the subject of Music, MP3s and playback I heard one of these on Skye a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed with its output.

I may be talking nonsense, but it's highly likely that the operating system running the MG3's central screen will be based on Linux with an Android overlay.
This system is becoming quite common in modern cars, as it is in autonomous GPS systems.
It offers greater responsiveness and reliability than the American giant from Redmond.
In principle, all types of audio file are supported, including FLAC.

Sorry to repeat this but...

I'm very impressed with it, you can get two and stereo them if you like, but one sounds pretty good.

It doubles up as a Xmas tree light too

I continue to be impressed I just played Samba's "Pa Ti" full volume through it and it sounded better than via the laptop which has two decent sized speakers and a Realtek ALC3235 audio controller

The MG4 USB music player does. So I think that there is a good chance that the MP3 player does as well.
