There is another thread on this topic - not sure how to combine or whether that needs Admin help!
More importantly, I tried the "wiggle and press the contacts for the airbag" technique briefly described in the video on this thread.
Summary steps:
Go to CAR --> SAFETY menu and power off vehicle
Look under drivers seat for yellow cable connectors - check if it is too taught, coming loose, caught etc and push together firmly but very carefully
Power on vehicle and see if the airbag error clears
Apparently this is a problem for multiple vehicles although it does seem to be particularly bad in our MGs by the look of things.
I'll keep you posted but I did that and the error vanished straight away. Fingers are firmly crossed...
