MG4 Charging port lights stopped working

As you say @Rolfe a "nothing-burger"

I'm fed up with resetting mine.

I've done it 4 times in nearly a year and won't be doing it again.

They look very pretty and all that, but serve no real purpose.

Yes, they give an indication of what charge the battery has (or discharge available if V2L) but its all on the dash and more precise to boot.

I will be adding it to the list for my upcoming service, but don't expect it to stay fixed for very long.

Apart from I have done it again.

5th time for me.

It literally takes 1 minute to do.

But it is an arse that they won't just stay on as per the job description!

It looks like it's a glitch in the software (now there's a surprise) as removing the fuse or disconnecting the 12V battery both seem to cure the problem by cutting the power supply and forcing a re-boot.

After our first annual service the port lights didn’t work. I told the “mechanic” at our MG dealership about the trick of taking the relevant fuse out and just reinserting it. I had read that on one of these forum posts. It worked perfectly! The car was still charging when the lights had failed.

Hi all. My charging port lights have stopped working when I plug in to charge at home, I was wondering if anyone else has also had this issue?

Not the biggest problem, I'm absolutely loving the MG4!
It has happened on mine too, very occasionally.. always got back to normal on the next charge.
On my previous car, an mg5 , the connector interlock stopped working, altho no problem charging. Fixed free on service but it took them all day, a big job apparently as they have to drop the battery pack!

I had similar issues- disconnected the 12v battery for 30mins and reconnect fixed it for me. Easier to get to than the fuses. Just make sure you unlock the car and leave a door open JIC. This is an MG! You never know what it will do next!!

I noticed that if I unlock the car and open a door, the charging flap doesn't relock and the lights around the socket don't come on when I open the flap.
If I just unlock the car with the fob as I stand by the flap, then open the flap, the port lights come on.

How do you do this? I've seen a connector with two wires plugged into the battery terminal, but I haven't been able to unplug it by pulling it with my hand. Is it just hard? Or am I doing something wrong?
This has happened on my MG4 SE, it’s now 16 months old, but hopefully covered on the warranty but usually lights are not.
