Hello everyone.
Is it possible to check whether the car already has the PD052 update installed?
Can the user check it himself, through some option in infotainment system.

I also need to know please.
I had the car 2 months and have two majors issues.
A squealing noise whenever I start the car and pull away and the excessive revs when on inclines or overtaking.
Took the car to an MG garage 2 weeks ago and they stripped and cleaned the brakes but the squealing continued after they road tested it at the end of the day. They suggested it may be a slightly warped disc and I should bring it back in a few weeks if it continues.
I told them about the PD052 update and they assured me it had been uploaded to the car. However, the excessive revs are still as bad and frightened the life out of me this week when I tried to overtake at 50mph and there was nothing but a roar from the engine.
Not sure how to take these issues forward with the garage. Any advice welcome.

Well this is interesting because every dealer I rang up and asked about PD052 said they had no knowledge of the update. I rang 10 dealers only a few days ago. So it seems that UK MG dealerships are either totally in the dark or lying to their customers. Added to this, if they have indeed installed the update and you’re still seeing acceleration issues… I would say this is now a recall issue. This now needs to be escalated beyond MG. It’s serous. MG customer service seems appalling. They are prepared to release a car that has major safety concerns and then try and keep the issue under the radar. In my opinion, all MG ZS Hybrid + should be recalled.
Someone on this forum (in Germany I believe) has had the PD052 update and they said it seemed to solve the loss of acceleration issue. So if that’s the case, I can only assume your dealership lied to you when they said they had installed it.
Not impressed with what I’m learning about MG. Very low customer service. It’s appalling to release a car with serious safety concerns and not do an immediate world wide recall. Appalling. I really don’t want to read about head on collision while overtaking due to zero acceleration.
Had MG ZS Hybrid + on order. Cancelled.

I had the PD 052 installed last week.I spoke to the guy that installed it and as I have said elsewhere,he told me that the dealership will not contact you about the update until they have installed it into their own demo models .So far there is definitely a difference in the revs when going up a steep hill.I have not floored the car to overtake yet. When I do I will report back.Unless you have access to a MG laptop and codes etc,you have to take MG at face value,so the only you will know is to floor your car and drive up street inclined.

Well, firstly I don’t own the car. I had one on order, not any more. I joined forum as I was hearing multiple complaints about the car. According to Nico (view posts above), the dealership said they had installed the update. Nico then says the car experienced zero acceleration while trying to overtake from 50mph. That’s after the update. So unless the dealership lied about installing the update …. It suggests that there is still a serious safely issue with the car.

Sometimes posted comments need to be taken with a pinch of salt . People need to make up their own mind based on their own experience and not rely on posted comments. While forums are useful, sometimes those contributing are from the opposition.

Update on my revving/lack of acceleration. I rang my MG dealer today and asked if the PD052 update had been applied to my car. She advised me it had not and the only update showing on the MG system was in respect of the infotainment system which had been applied to my car.
I have sent her a link to this forum and a copy of the MG Customer Service email from the other thread.
Given my safety concerns she is pursuing the matter as a priority. I will keep you updated.
Perhaps those who comment they've already had the update should be taken with a pinch of salt.😁

Hi all

I have enquired with my MG retailer too now. Had the car since Friday and absolutely love it, but this is pretty crucial having read through comments. Not had any kind of limp mode power yet but the revs uphill are extreme.
Have also made some suggestions for feedback regarding a few things I've read on this forum and agree with.

Great forum by the way, I'll keep posted regarding what I hear back on the update

The update is a huge step forward and I can only recommend it to everyone. So stay tuned.
You’re in Germany? I understand from this forum it’s just the UK that is experiencing slow update roll out. After the update have you done any high speed driving and tried overtaking at high speed. So have you accelerated from say 90kph to 130kph and experienced any issues with loss of acceleration?
I think they are just in the process of acknowledging the issue here in the UK. I will be eager to see if the update solves the issue for everyone here in the UK. I’ll also watch with interest if they actively contact customers to tell them of the update.

Infotainment update…. does that mean you now have access to a graphic equaliser?

No I do not have any graphic equaliser. ☹️ They did not tell me what the infotainment update included.

The infotainment update sends out subliminal low frequency messages convincing you that the car isn’t experiencing high revs or acceleration loss while overtaking. It also convinces you that you do indeed have a graphic equaliser!!
Thought a bit of humour might help. 🤣

Are you saying that I can't be trusted then.I can assure I did have the update I installed last Tuesday in a dealership in Dublin.Perhaps ring several of the Dealerships in Ireland and ask if they know about the update .They will confirm the availability. This forum is supposed to be a polite forum, but your comment is unbecoming.

Just watched a very recent review and it mentions being able to adjust the bass/treble etc. Wonder if that is in the latest update?

Around 16.30 in, doesn't show it unfortunately just discusses it.
