MG3 Hybrid Service Manual

Good morning Richard. I find the MG3 excellent for 'holding against creep' in all situations, whether in traffic, downhill, uphill or any other situation. You have to turn on Autohold in the car settings. After that, whenever stopping, a little extra pressure on the brake pedal will engage autohold and you can lift your foot off and relax. I've never had this 'extra' on any previous cars and I find it to be one of the many things that make driving the MG3 a pleasure.

I agree completely.
I do the same.

Same here I just leave it on. Except as Clive says if you need to creep forward or backwards a few inches.
You can have the best of both worlds, leave the auto hold switched on and if you are light on the brake you can still creep the car without triggering the auto hold. It does say somewhere that the auto hold only triggers when sufficient pressure is put on the brake pedal. I do this in light traffic that keeps moving every few seconds where I keep a feather weight on the brake pedal to hold the car and when released it moves without the auto hold engaging. Then if the wait is longer I just put more pressure on the pedal to engage the auto hold. Keep an eye on the icon on the screen and if it stays white you are light enough on the pedal, if it goes green you've triggered the auto hold.

Hi,
We took delivery of a new MG3 Hybrid Trophy today and find the need to hold the vehicle still by using the footbrake is not good. Our Tesla and the MG's predecessor, a VW Up, were a lot easier to drive in start-stop traffic as they don't move until the accelerator pedal is pressed. Also, the ride is made jerky by the brakes being rather aggressive.... but this may be because they are not yet bedded in.

Is there a setting somewhere to prevent 'creep'.
Thanks,
Richard
Press harder on the brake pedal and the green hill start on cdsh lights up and holds the car, just drive off when ready

As an alternative backup location, I have copied the manual to my website:

Let me know (and point me to) anything else useful that I can put there. :)
Is it possible to upload to your website the other manuals for MG3 HYBRID (wiring diagrams, diagnostics etc.) like you did perfectly with MG4?Thanks in advance for your great job.

If someone supplies them to me I'll happily upload them.

The MG4 data was obtained by someone creating an account and logging in to MG's service portal, then downloading lots of material. I simply got copies from their Google Drive folder / Dropbox folder (I can't remember which) and uploaded them to my website. So if someone does likewise for the MG3+ ......... :)

Thanks.I will try myself to login to MG's service portal and i will let you know if i have any progress with the manuals.

Just picked my new one up this morning where is the auto hold thx
Centre Consul below the Electronic Hand Brake. Button with an A on it. Press it and a symbol of a circle with an A will appear in white under the speedo in the digital info screen. Press the brake down when you stop and it will show the same symbol in green. Then just press the accelerator to move off again.

Have today found out my first service at my MG main dealer will take 1/2 hour at £156/hour and cost £173.08. Checking MG's 'Maintenance Checksheet' I see all that will be replaced at the first annual service (15K mls) are the engine oil (4 litres) & filter. (No other filters) I will have only done about 5k mls. Apparently this is their low mileage charge for this service. What is going on?

Checking online I see Castrol can do 4 litres of engine oil for MG ZS SUV Castrol EDGE 0W-20 V Engine Oil 4L @ £47.99 free delivery. Apparently Castrol EDGE 0W-20 V is suitable for gasoline and diesel vehicles with ACEA C5 0W-20 recommendations.
Also noticed the Valvoline equivalent for 5 litres was just £39.96
So the oil isn't out of this world at all. To me it looks like some sharp practice going on.
Any thoughts on this?

Hey mgpooter, where do you find the maintenance check sheet? I'm in Australia and have found nothing of the sort, thanks!
