Say Hello

Welcome to the club MattyS, I think you will "hopefully" enjoy your new car. Your unique adaptations will be an extra interest to everyone here, so be sure to let us know your thoughts and how you get on with it. Must admit, it's a bit of an extreme anti-theft device you've had fitted, but hey! if it works! :D
my first car was an old Renault 5 and the poor mite that kicked the window in to steal it was so confused by the additional wiring under the steering column he just pegged it. He did unfortunately steal my steering ball unit which was another £1800 to replace 💀.

I've also had a Skoda tech reverse my car INTO the inspection ramp and cause a massive hole in the bumper despite being told to flip the right pedal down to drive it normally 🤣 That was a day before I was driving to Devon on holiday.

Hello everyone, I'm Data. Glad I've found this site. It looks great!

I'm a first time EV owner and have just bought a brand new MG ZS Trophy EV Long Range Connect. It's amazing as many of you will know. Both my wife and myself are intrigued by it and in particular by the onboard tech. My previous petrol car was a Citroen C3 and that was pretty techie and we loved that car, so much so that we kept it for near 7 years from new. However, MG has certainly taken the biscuit with the ZS. Love the cruise control with traffic jam assist, that's really cool!

Anyway, I'm a bit of a car & motorcycle buff and love everything about them. But this EV thing is so new to me I may need some help in adjusting. Cue you guys and girls!

Hope to speak to as many of you as I can over the coming months and years. Thanks in advance.

Welcome Welcome :)

Hello, I'm Ken, I'm looking forward to using the forum.

Yesterday I picked up a 15 month old MG4 Trophy long range in Holborn Blue. Had my eye on one since seeing one regularly on the neighbours drive. I was impressed with the interior quality, and loved it on the test drive. Traded in a 6 year old Kia Sportage petrol Auto which has served me well.

The only annoyance so far is the centre rear headrest, it will have to go as it blocks most of the view out the back.

Hit it lucky on the granny charging today, it's windy so my Agile Octopus tariff is cheap. Next thing to sort out is a proper charger.

Hello @Kenp1, welcome to MGEVs, yes even with the rear centre headrest removed, rear visibility isn't great, but you'll quickly get used to it and focus on all that's good about the MG4. (y)

I removed the centre headrest and it's made a big difference, I can now actually see what's behind me. I don't understand why they didn't fit the slimline head rests like other cars I've had.

G,day, Like Kenp1 I took out the centre headrest, so impressed was I , I took out the left and right ones as well. They now reside in the bottom of the wardrobe and the rearward view is much better.

And the rear wiper sweeps the area of glass behind the middle rear headrest. 🤦‍♂️

MG only added it to the MG4 because of reviewer comments ... and those comments were only spurious ones to fill content. Us owners of the early cars (without the rear wiper) don't miss it at all.

Rear wiper is definitely useful, but only after the middle headrest is taken out. Which I think most of us do. 🙂🙂

Hi all, I'm Rubin, having my ZS EV Trophy Long Range in white colour delivery tomorrow ( can't wait :D ) , my first electric car, my previous car was Lexus IS250 petrol, had it for 9 years but it was time to say goodbye. Not sure what else I can say lol, I'm not good at introducing speech. I'm looking forward to use the forum and share the experience. Thanks in advance
