As some of you know, I smashed my ankle in on 23 November. Yesterday, I finally was able to wash it, albeit with not as much attention as I would have liked, as I could not grovel on the driveway!

It was f-f-f-f-f-f filthy!

One dirty side. I should have taken a shot of the rump as that was truly caked. Like the Golf, it seems to get its back end dirty quite rapidly.

The car had a chip on the leading edge of the bonnet, which I knew about. There is now a new one at the base of the off side A pillar, and a supermarket door ding on the driver's door that does not T-cut out....

I hate when people do that. It happened to me years ago when I was self-employed. I was in Tesco carpark in the car, eating my lunch, when someone pulled in next to me and got out, banging their door on mine.

She didn't notice I was in the car, so when I honked the horn, she jumped.

Then proceeded to deny she had banged the door despite me showing the red mark on my white door that matched exactly with the position of the leading edge of her open door.

She continued to deny it, so I took photos of her, the doors and her reg and let the insurance deal with it.

They found the paint on my door matched her paint.

She fought it every step of the way. Denied it outright and it nearly ended in court until she eventually caved. Madness....

Anyway...apart from the ding, nice clean car.

Yes. I was overridden on the colour. I liked the dark grey, but Mrs Secure said it was like our last car (which was black and which we had no choice in, as it was the last one in the North) and too dark. So red it was.

I must say that in the flesh it looks good when clean and the sun is shining.

At least you got to a satisfactory conclusion in the end. Last car I had, parked in a shopping centre car park, on my own yards away from any other cars, when I came back, still on my own but someone had driven into the back of the car, then scarpered without leaving a note. Couldn't get the centre parking managers to provide CCTV footage so had to swallow the repair bill.😭

I washed mine also. Nice & shiny now. I followed up with a short drive to dry the brakes off.

Then as the salt has been washed away by last weeks rain I took out my Morgan. I love my EV but the pure thrill of an ICE sports car still hits the spot.

Mine had its first contact wash in 3 months last week but within a few days it looked like I'd been off roading in it, Fenland roads I guess. So it's back to surfex/snow foam, jet wash, another foam then rinse for now. At least I managed a Yum cars Foam+ after the contact wash so there's a little more protection added.

My car's the same colour as the OP, but before I picked it up I had it treated with Gardx (other options available). I occasionally wash it with snofoam under pressure as it's not recommended to run it through a carwash because of the chemicals. It always looks good after a wash, but on our roads it doesn't last long!

Mine too, I had Autoglym Cerashine applied before I picked it up. It wasn't until there was a frosty morning that I noticed something odd about the roof. See pics.
I showed the dealer and they reapplied the coating. Looks great...when it's clean, Like you say, doesn't last long on the country roads round here either.😏🙂

Good reminder, I may take mine for a wash tomorrow. Can't wash where we park daily, so professional wash it is. Since our parking is on an incline, the bonnet tends to collect water in the dipped feature. It seems that we are also collecting gunk in the right hand side of the frunk space.

As for supermarket dents, we've collected three so far on the passenger side front door.
Two definitely in supermarket and one definitely by one of our neighbours.
Useless Viofo didn't capture any dent though. So, no evidence to go by. It seems there is an unnatural hatred for either MG4s or EVs or Wales plates. Previous car, while bright red, did not accumulate a single ding in two years.

May sounds like a daft question but I notice the rear spoiler have play in them when wiggled. I assume no one has report any issue going through a car wash?

Never used a car wash of any kind or even a pressure washer on the MG.

Last time I used a PW, it stripped some paint off the boot handle ...
