Android (non auto)???????

Seems to work well enough with my Motorola G62. You need a good quality cable with well made plugs though - any movement in the socket and it drops instantly. It's strange how sensitive it is. Had the same issue with my Focus ST.

Not when I have direct, real-world experience that categorically disproves what you asserted. (As @Martinonline and @pjmmk have also expressed). 🤷‍♂️
You seem to be driven by a need to win when presented with evidence that you disagree with. Your approach is boring in the extreme and for a self proclaimed "expert" you should say less and research more.

🤦‍♂️

I simply see a need to ensure that information offered is accurate - where it isn't (and I know it not to be, and I see it expressed) I'll simply offer the actual, accurate info. Nothing more. 🤷‍♂️

Your assertion* that Motorola phones are incompatible with MGs (the MG4 specifically, as this is the MG4 board) is fundamentally incorrect - three of us here have proven so.

* you have presented no evidence - merely a copy/paste of text from an unknown source.

@Rattly,

Could you please provide a link to your internet information so that it can be assessed for accuracy and applicability. It may be that particular motorola phones have an issue or that, as with lorlts of internet information, it is out of date but has persisted.

This will be useful for MG4 owners when they replace their phones or having issues with their current Motorola phones.

Thanks in advance.

You can highlight the quoted text and do a Google search to find the original.

I did so and the only place that text is found is on this thread.

My MOTO G4 (Android 14) works perfectly on my MG4 SE, but it must be unlocked when connecting the cable or the car won't register it.

Does your version of Android Auto have the highlighted yellow setting to allow access when the phone is locked?

I think it might be a peculiarity of Moto phones ... even though I had that option set on my old Moto G8 Plus, if I used the wired connection I had to unlock it first. (Using my wireless adapter then the Moto phone would connect fine without unlocking). My current Redmi Note 13 Pro+ connects fine (wired or wireless) without unlocking, both before the update (A14 / HyperOS 1) and after (A15 / HyperOS 2).

FWIW I've had my car over 2 years now and it's been fine, but last week, for some reason, it just stopped connecting to my phone and now nothing we do will reinstate it. Nothing has changed - MG system has not been updated, nor my phone.

If you're using a cable check the phone socket is clear of fluff and that the cable is still in good working order.
