MG4 Xpower times vs battery

I think we've got down to 12% in our LR Trophy and it's been fine. It just bleats all the time about being low!

I guess much lower and it might start crawling.

Mine severely restricted power at 5%. It struggled to get up to and maintain 50mph on a mild incline 🤷‍♂️. It had shown all the warnings on the dash though so no surprise really. Luckily I was testing it close to home, so no real worries.

Quite surprised how ‘poorly’ the X Power goes at lower end of the battery, and not even that low, at 26% i felt sport was well restricted.
When i had the Tesla it maintained full grunt right down into single figure percentages. At 26% it would pull as if 100%.

It's 30% that it starts to drop off

Maybe the standard Tesla but not the performance version.
There are various tests that show the performance drop.

I've been letting my X Power, get pretty low before charging. Down to less than 10% the other day was 5% and it did get a bit worrying. I'm gonna try and stick to charging it when it gets down to about 30%. Also because, apparently you don't get the full performance at less then 30%
Although it still feels pretty quick to me, at less than 30% 🙂👍
Whenever I start to notice low range potential ( as that's what it actually is according to how you drive ), I simply ( while driving ), reset the odometer which resets the ( potential ) range to to a more realistic number, thus lessening the 'range anxiety' and top up stop.

All you're doing is playing mind tricks on yourself ... you don't magically get that extra range. ;)

Nothing that doesn't require you to set it going.
It will be near enough but is near enough good enough?

(70% Battery)

I shall be going out early on Sunday with a fully charged battery and hopefully get some quicker times.

There is an app called drag racer that you don't see to start manually

So I only learnt yesterday that when you are below 5% battery you are limited to 40mph and after reading through this tread I did not realize how much the charge affects the battery, and looking at the graphs I must admit its a lot more than I expected. However, I think this might be due to this being my first electric car.

As long as you are above 30% SoC I think the power and acceleration available is reasonable. It seems to drop off after that and more so in the Xpower than other EV's.

Tested at -11c temps and Winter tyres 🥶🥶

Skip to 5'25" for the full table of results for 90% to 10% SoC👍

I've noticed my Tesla MYP is aggressively quick after supercharging to 65%+ but it calms down a lot after the battery's cooled. How the MG will perform I guess I'll find out in a week or so - I hate waiting lol

Reminds me of my first time driving one of those horrible 1 litre three cylinder Fords that my cousin had on hire. The thing was utterly gutless, I had to rev the nuts off the thing just to get it moving on any sort of incline. I don't miss those things at all.
