Cars you’ve smoked ?

My schoolgirl maths suggest that going from 225 to 325 bhp is an increase of 44%. Whereas from 435 to 535 is only an increase of 23% 🤓. So in terms of putting extra load on the ancillary components, surely the 435bhp to 535bhp is a milder upgrade?
It's how a car already on the limits in terms of current performance of chassis/suspension brakes performs without adding an extra 100bhp, and it's the 535bhp you mention that will push the car beyond it's limits.

Show me a car out there with that power output that doesn't have massively uprated brakes and suspension
If there wasn't a need for vented discs etc they wouldn't exist.

Which goes back to my original post if you are going to bump up the power is the cost of bringing everything else up to a standard to cope with that worth the extra performance over what is currently a decent enough driving car with blistering straight line speed.

I think the USP for the XP is how it combines a pretty extraordinary party trick with being able to mooch around in it the rest of the time. I bought my ZS 1.5 new, based on value, the MG5 based on value, comfort and running costs, the XP because, well, because it was there. All three have been on low deposit (sub £500) PCPs and incredibly well priced, and seriously easy to upgrade from car to car due to excellent residuals.
Plus it’s been great to hang up the socket set and put the tools away, I’ve a (inherited) 1946 TC in the garage so that’s the only mechanical baggage I now have. I’m just not that keen on speed any more.
I’d love to see a modded XP though 😊

Bloke over the road who works for Marshall bmw has just got his new I4 E drive 40 today, he commented how quick it was and could challenge my Chinese hot hatch.

After checking i have just text him the specs.

Having recently dealt with Marshall’s as a group (three failed purchases on three sites hunting for new car for Mrs) is taking anything they say with a bucket of salt! 😉

For that money I'd definitely be getting an ioniq 5n
Me too, he works for Marshalls, it is a company car .
He is head accountant there, reckons they are 50k to buy in themselves.
Lovely motor though, he will have this for 6 months, then they sell them and he gets another new one, i will suggest the M50 next time.
