Very happy with my new Xpower, super price to purchase, smooth at all speeds (no vibes at all) and so far zero issues apart from FM radio defaulting to DAB on 'ready' when getting in the car.

When I first got mine I set the mode to Eco thinking I'd get better economy. There are 3 different Eco settings. In the end I gave up & leave it in Normal all the time now. I leave the HVAC Eco setting on as there is little difference to cooling. The settings all just seem to adjust throttle response & putting your foot to the floor over rides the settings anyway. Sport just seems to be a bit more responsive. As far as economy goes I think that Normal provides as good as or even better than ECO. It may be that in ECO I put my foot down a bit more I don't know.

Now I just get in & go with all default settings. LKA beeps & wheel tugs have taught me to drive accurately so I rarely get them now. The only time I turn LKA off is when I get on a winding country road with little traffic to enjoy the 4s handling characteristics.

I received my new MG4 LR Trophy 12 days ago 🙂

I love the car, it drives better than all the others I tested in similar price ranges (Renault Megane, Nissan Ariya, Ford Explorer, MG ZS EV)

The bad news is that LKA tried to drive me off the road a few times, and I also had phantom braking. On top of that, the plastics inside and out have white stains (whyyy? 😅), and the paint is slightly oxidized.

It's already back at the dealer, and they are working on all the issues for the past 2 days. I hope that they will fix them, because I really like the car 🥹

I wonder if it’s old stock? Latest software/firmware upgrades have improved the experience massively so that will take care of many things including the LKA if they apply the latest service campaign.
The paint issues hopefully they will address properly but depending in environmental factors they might come back in the future

After the latest batch of updates to my car, it's completely transformed my opinion of the car. MG really are missing a trick by not pushing out updates OTA or at least allowing people to book their cars in for FOC updates.

It is old stock! Build on November 2023. The sales people assured me it would be updated before delivery, but I guess it wasn't 🤷

Did you get any paintwork coatings? I did and they overlapped on the plastic and left a whitish residue, like wax if you don’t buff it. It cleared up using a bit of tyre shine (you could probably also use plastic trim restorers). Just down to sloppy application by the dealership I think. Same in the rubber pad for the wireless charger and the steering wheel logo with the inside coatings.

Although if your paint is also oxidised maybe it’s sun damage? Would be unlikely considering the age of the car though.

No I didn't do any work on it myself yet. It's brand new. The dealership washed it before delivery, I don't know if they applied wax 😋

I’ve always applied a ceramic coating myself and it’s as good as what they put on . A friend of ours worked for Toyota their cars came with what he called a £400 sponge pay £400 pounds for paint protection or it went in his toolbox. We got plenty of.😎

I guess everything is ok now. They updated the software, and I don't have any serious issues anymore. They also took the car to a detailing garage, and it looks good enough. They left one stain behind on the passenger's pillar, but I was too tired to complain again 😂

The are a couple of small issues left, but I can live with them. One is that the car slows down sometimes when there are parked cars on the side. The other is that the cruise control disengages on its own when I'm going uphill on a road with a lot of turns.

Overall I'm very happy with the efficiency, handling and comfort of the car after 3500km 🙂

That thing about the car slowing down on ACC when passing parked cars is universal, I think. It doesn't do it when it's already following a car, and it mostly doesn't do it when there are parked cars on both sides. But if the parked cars are only on the left, for some reason the ACC sees the parked car, not as being in the lane to the left, and so irrelevant, but as being in front of the car in its own lane. If you look at the driver's screen you'll see it.

Maybe they'll fix it in a future software update but I'm not holding my breath. I watch the screen, and if I see the parked car jump out into the lane my car is in I press the accelerator to get the car to keep moving till it's passed the phantom obstruction.

I haven't noticed my MG do this but my Tesla does, especially at night. The Tesla relies entirely on cameras and it's useless in some situations. I was on a dual carriageway doing 70 (the limit) with what Tesla calls autopilot engaged, just for speed control. It panicked once when going under a pedestrian bridge and again when it spotted a truck parked in a layby. You really have to have you wits about you when using these things.
