    Site upgrade thanks

Just wanted to say a big thank you @Stuart Wright for today's site upgrade. It's great that we can now search for TLA's like 'V2L' - that's really useful (y)

    Jaguar Type 00

Looks like they dragged the designer of the Chrysler Crossfire out of his retirement home. And we all know how JC described the rear of that car ;)

    MG5 pre-facelift V2L DIY hack?

What rate does the 12V battery get charged at from the HV battery? 1500W sounds a lot to me - that's 125A at 12V !

MG5 PCP Lease ending later this year

£20K doesn't sound that good a deal as pre-reg 10 mile ones were selling for about £19 only a month ago. Sounds like there's some wriggle room in there to me. Another option could be to find out how much the dealer will offer you in p/ex of your existing MG5. If that's more than the £10K...

Delay paying £190 car tax on EV until April 2026 (action needed before the end of March 2025)

That is correct. You can re-tax anytime in March 2025, which "buys" you 12 months of tax from March 2025 to Feb 2026 inclusive. Next year it will be due from 1st March 2026.

    V2G Vehicle-to-Grid capability

Sure - with solar and/or very cheap overnight tariff that is cost-effecting. I was referring above to the costs of a bi-directional V2H or V2G charging system and not having a domestic battery system.

    V2G Vehicle-to-Grid capability

Will it be cost effective though? I'm struggling to see any meaningful ROI compared to using a domestic ESS battery system. Providing house backup for long periods of power cuts is a different matter and one that the size of an EV's battery will be hugely beneficial. But in the (most of)...

You're not going to do 280 miles on one charge, so drive it how you like and rapid DC charge around London (i.e. half way-ish).

Just taken the plunge and I already need more advice!

Mathematically, it's still just a £300 bet on whether your car gets written off and, if it does, you get a nice lump sum. The insurers will have priced the GAP insurance premium according to their risk of a write-off, whilst still earning themselves a healthy profit. It's just gambling with a...

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

    (y) I didn't pick 5 laps of Spa randomly ;) Agree with what a track - we walked the whole track a long time ago - couldn't believe the incline of Eau Rouge - it didn't look that steep on TV! 🚶‍♀️🌡️📈

So, for everyone's diary: Date: September 2025 Location: Spa, Ardennes, Belgium Participants: @Bricktop X PWR vs. @Darth Niloc Chariots; XPower vs. Seal Course: 5 laps. Prizes; a) overall winner b) fastest lap c) highest speed through Eau Rouge 🍿 or should that be a bag of 🍟 ;)

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

Have you checked insurance for the Seal? IIRC (though may be out of date) I read it can be very expensive due to lack of parts/dealers hence due to high time/cost for repairs some insurers won't insure it?
