    Looking at a ZS EV

That picture is with the lower height. I never understood why they have the higher one, why would anyone want to make the boot smaller by leaving it on the higher setting?

    Looking at a ZS EV

Here are the photos for the same pushchair in Honda Civic 2013 (400 litres official space) and MG (470 litres official space). 2013 Honda Civic: 2023 MG ZS EV: In the MG it won't fit between the wheel arches so won't sit flat. In the Civic it sits flat with 2-3 inches spare. Also far less...

    Android Auto issues

I'm afraid not. I strangely did find it better just saying 'Hey Google' rather than pressing the speak button. So 'Hey Google, navigate to Winchester train station' for instance seems to work ok when plugged in and using AA.

Software Updates ZS EV 2023 under Warranty?

At my first service the dealer said software updates are free, but 'none came up as being required' so none were done. I did ask if that meant only updates flagged as essential or any updated software but it was just receptionist and didn't really know.

    Dash cam advice

Yes it would be good. 2 people I know have had accidents recently and their inbuilt dashcam footage was used to verify 3rd party caused them. The guy with BMW i4 was shunted from the back and the driver tried to scarper. The footage got the number plate and evidence. My mate had a Tesla written...

    Looking at a ZS EV

That's strange, I found the boot space really disappointing. We have a 2013 Honda Civic hatchback and a toddler living with us. The Out'n'About Nipper pushchair fits very comfortably in the back of the Honda with space either side, but can't even lay down in flat the MG boot. When we went on...

    Looking at a ZS EV

Brand new unused, makes me wonder why they just sat on it for over 8 months. I bought a 5 month old Jan 2024 Trophy Connect SR ex-demo in June 24 ex-demo for £19.5k, so I've had the same thing as you're looking at for a year now. Many annoyances with the utterly useless entertainment interface...

    Retractable parcel shelf

That's not for the EV, it's a completely different fixing. I can't believe how rubbish the rear parcel shelf is. Feels like it's made out of cardboard and the fixings are so flimsy too. I'd buy a different one if available.

    Music will not turn off

If you don't want it to keep going just hit the pause on the screen before you get out. Stops instantly.

Flood water damage resulting in full battery replacement

Surely if the battery is watertight is doesn't need to be replaced. The garage agreed and said it's the connectors which are damaged. It can't take £22k to replace connectors can it? BTW, you can get a whole 2023 ZS EV for about £15k

Software Updates ZS EV 2023 under Warranty?

Since it's a bug and there are no OTA updates (which were promised by MG but never delivered) and there is no way for customer updates it seems reprehensible that they can make a charge to do this. Even my £20 radio gets free firmware updates.

2022 ZS EV: Which USB Port for CarPlay?

I'm not sure how that's better than a cable if you have to plug/unplug every time you use it. I bought one from AliExpress which seemed to need both WiFI and bluetooth and always got in a pickle, wouldn't play music half the time etc and would randomly connect to my phone from the garage when...

New Map 23Q4: Unable to install MD5 verification failure[Solved]

I was told by my dealer that they don't update the maps, only the car software

Set ismart to charge to 80%

I have nearly the same setup, except a Zappi charger. I never touch the MG charge settings or the Zappi settings, I just use the Intelligent Octopus Go app. Using this, you just set the charge you want to add and the time you want it ready by. You're then not restricted to the 2330-0530 time...

    Is ismart always this useless

Unfortunately I don't have a cat. Can you train pets keep tabs on the charge level?

    Public charging query

I picked my daughter up from Heathrow yesterday. I have a Trophy SR and my journey is, by coincidence also 98m. I stopped here which is 10m from T5 (also only 6m from Royal Holloway if that's where your son is) and has a 50W CCS charge point, so may be really handy for you. I only needed at...

    headunit upgrade

Ha ha - good luck with that 😂 So you press the steering wheel speech button. Nothing happens. You press it again. Then again, and eventually a message comes up on the screen saying "Hello, how can I help". (You can supposedly try saying "Hello MG" but I've never had that respond). Then you say...

Charging Power - What Should I expect?

I did my first long journey this week (320 miles each direction) in my 2024 Trophy Connect SR so had to stop a number of times to recharge. Despite choosing 150kW and 300kW charging points the car only charged a maximum of 42Kw, much of the time significantly less yet I read on some other posts...

    Ding! What was that for?

Going along in my car (ZS EV Trophy Connect SR) occasionally it makes a 'ding' noise. No messages on the screen, no icons change, no lights flash. I haven't a clue what it's for. Does anyone else get this or know what it means?

    headunit upgrade

I have a Trophy Connect, not sure what it gives you tbh, I wouldn't bother.
