It could be. I have the same problem with Android Auto, if I plug in my phone before the infotainment system has booted. Generally this happens if I unlock the car using the button on the door handle. I'll check if it's the same for this.

Sure, but what I'm saying is that I get in the car and the lights turn on but the infotainment screen stays bright. Only after that if I toggle the lights does the screen go into dark mode.

Does anyone else find the auto background mode for the infotainment system works inconsistently? Often when I get into the car at night I'm blinded by the screen coming on in daytime mode. This only seems to happen the first time I get into the car - if I subsequently turn the lights off or on...

I don't normally change it when I stop the car. I'll try turning it off next time and see what happens.

Thanks! It's slightly less annoying now I know how to back out of it: before I was tapping the home button and then choosing Android Auto again!

Hello, my first post here. I've had my Aussie Essence 64 for a few weeks now. I'm on R11. When I first turn on the car the first screen that appears is the climate control screen. Is this normal? Sometimes it even muscles in over the top of Android Auto. It drives me crazy. Is this something I...
