Whilst in my first year of ownership my mileage is higher than usual at around 5,000 miles in 10 months, generally my usage tends to be more in line with what you are talking about and I've not had any issues.
I bought my car at the beginning of May 24. I have covered almost 5,000 miles, and for the money there isn't a competitor that can offer the same level of equipment (my model is the Trophy).
The issues I've experienced, and mentioned on this site, were an 'emissions fault warning' which took...
As I've said many times before, and will continue to say - MG UK Customer service is amongst the worst I've ever experienced with respect to a vehicle manufacturer!
Interesting... I sat in a Cyberster in the showroom last week, and found the seat didn't go back far enough (I am 6' 3" or 1.91 metres).
Are you saying if you push the seat base button backwards for more than 10 seconds, the seat goes further back?
Why on earth would they design it like that!?!?!?!
Whilst the car itself is OK, apart from the antics of the engine/gearbox when going uphill(!), and the odd occasional glitch with the electronics such as the temp going to LO occasionally when you get in the car, in terms of value for money it can't be beaten.
BUT the absolutely crummy approach...
Apart from a well documented Emissions fault, and lousy after sales services applicable to MG UK; the only issue with the car is driving up steeper hills where due to the nature of the drive train the 3 speed auto box will change down to second making the engine rather noisy.
I do hope the problem is solved. For me it took two attempts to fix the problem with software updates. The first time the light was back on after six days, the second time we managed to go for a whole month before the problem returned!
Finally in early December, MG told all it's dealers with...
Don't worry the OEM Tyres were only available in Australia, and are now obsolete! So if you get a puncture on one tyre you have to replace the one on the other side for safety reasons.
Therefore you will be ditching the crummy Khumo tyres for hopefully a decent brand!
I went with Good Year...
You make some very salient points regarding MG UK and in my case at least, my selling dealer.
Whilst I don't have the ZS HYBRID + Trophy, but a MG3 HYBRID + Trophy, which I understand has the same drive train.
Over the last seven months it's become apparent that the UK business model is to...
Sounds like my much discussed Emissions fault warning, where eventually on the third attempt the faulty component was replaced.
If and when a problem becomes widespread enough, they relent and supply a relevant part that resolves the issue.
I have a very low opinion of MG UK Aftersales service...
It's caused by a faulty EGR valve. This component will need replacing, but there maybe a delay in getting the replacement as they are having to replace so many.
I do the same and find the usual discrepancy that has been mentioned above - about 4 mpg less than the trip computer shows.
However when I filled up this week, the difference was markedly worse. The trip showed around 40 mpg, and when calculated it only averaged just under 33mpg, which doesn't...
Interesting...
It's clearly a peculiar coincidence that wiping the camera lense on the front bumper seems to solve the problem for me.
I wonder if it's the windscreen mounted camera used for lane assist, whether there is also some input from the front mounted camera.
Or by pure coincidence, the...
I have to say I've never heard of the brand Giti. Sounds like another example of MG/SAIC buying a job lot cos they were going cheap.
I'm sure there are many budget car manufacturers doing exactly the same as MG. For example what kind of tyres do you get on a Dacia?!?! However as I said in my...
I live on a hill so every journey is accompanied by high engine revs as the car goes uphill.
I have a feeling when my car went in for a Emmision failure (detailed elsewhere) in September, they updated the engine software, as when I got the car back I noticed the engine rev characteristic, which...
